Having read many reviews, I have decided to go for the BE version and bought it from lendmeurears. I think that it will suit my musical needs slightly better than the MKII. BTW, are there any special eartips which you can recommend?(aside from the above mentioned sony ones).

i actually found the stock tips to be pretty good too i used the sky blue/ baby blue or the medium single flange (black)

they tone down on the mid bass and actually extend the treble to me

its more neutral with it

the sony hybrids bump up the mid bass and actually drops the top end of the treble while bumping up the lower to mid treble  but for some reason i really like it, makes for a more exciting sound. plus they seal really well

BTW, when I ordered the IEMs from LMUE, I didn't receive any confirmation email that the IEMs were ordered and paid for except for the paypal notice, is this normal? I have never ordered from him/them before so I have no clue : (

I just received the GR07 Classic Color Edition from Ebay seller Bigbargainonline. Stand by for unboxing pictures. Will edit this post in a bit. :)

I think I had enough to say and show about them that it deserved a thread: http://www.head-fi.org/t/699768/vsonic-gr07-classic-color-2014-edition-unboxing-and-first-impressions

I now see that the item has been sent :D Thank you for the reassurance tho :)

To Negakinu:

I cannot wait for your review with the amp! I am thinking about buying a Fiio E11, but I am not sure whether it would improve the sound quality at all.

I have found the following earbuds: http://www.mistertao.com/taobao-products/taobao-item-12988499803.html

I will of course try the stock ones first, if it doesn't seal that well then I will try the ones in that link. Alternatively, I also own a pair of Klipsch S4s, I hope that those tips will fit these IEMs, as they have been great to me so far. Thanks for the tip!

I wouldnt recommend using the klipsch s4 tips. The apeturr is too narrow, it would sound too congested and severely boost the bass, and i found the klipsch tips accentuate the siblance.

I tried my klipsch s4?with a multitude of tips and came to that conclusion

Plus u probably need a really large klipsch tip cause the gr07 is inserted much more shallow > s4

Same driver. Vsonic is discontinuing their other GR07 models as of 2014.

Actually no, the driver on the Vsonic GR07 Classic Edition is not the same. Remember Vsonic declared all ties cut with Japanese companies, that included the Sony licensing for bio-cellulose. No spec sheet will tell you the Classic edition has bio-cellulose drivers, they now have to use a different diaphragm to still continue the GR07. What Vsonic seem to have done is create the same "classic" sound of the driver before with the use of another diaphragm. Now if for the better or worse, I do not know but these are the occurrances.

Thanks for your input, I adjusted my unboxing thread accordingly. Still no confirmation from Vsonic though, so everything is still speculation.

It's not speculation, it's no coincidence the diaphragm is not in the spec sheet anymore, cutting ties with Japan as mentioned by Vsonic means dropping the BC diaphragm. Don't expect Vsonic to say any more on the matter as their last post about it seemed somewhat resentful, but the classic are definitely not using bio cellulose

I've had a lot of people asking me about which driver the CCE uses so it seems there is quite some confusion about this around here. So far you have been the only one that claims to know for certain. Now don't get me wrong, I believe you. It's just that people are holding off buying this thing because it's really hard to figure out what kind of driver the current incarnation has. It would really help everyone if you could share the data that explains this. Could you perhaps link the "resentful" post?

EDIT: just read your reply in the unboxing thread. So there's no data available? That's too bad. Hopefully they will mention the current driver someday.

They took down the post but I believe it was quoted here on head-fi, don't have the time to find it. It's not using bio-cellulose but for all we know, the new material could be just as good, I can't answer that as I can't compare the two, nor have I seen objective data comparing the two.
