The instructions on the CLAS says that after a full charge the light starts blinking but mine has been charging all day and although it is not really blinking i see the light slighly dim and back so could this be the blinking the instructions talk of as i would have thought the battery would have charged in 10 hours.

Blinking is probably not the right term.  Dim winking might be better.  I have to cup my hands around the switch to see the change in brightness.

And with my eyesight it has to be almost dark for me to see it  Still, the sound.. Oh the sound..

I agree that we should embrace and support all people that enjoy head fi music regardless of what gear they have.  We are all at different stages of this journey into wallet damage....

And talking of DT1350 does anyone else here run them with their CLAS and a Rx2?  I bought a pair as I dont have portable cans.  Only my JH16.  Am I dreaming to think that they may sound as good as the JH16?

I do... the DT1350s are the best-sounding portable headphones I've ever had. Combined with the CLAS and Rx2, it's a dandy rig!

Exciting.  I love the look of the DT1350 so it is exciting to think that they will sound good too.

Nice connectors Waazup. Who made them?  Is there any consensus on who makes a great balanced cable to suit JH iems?  It is only a matter of time until I go for a Rx3 or 71/b etc.

Depends on your needs, and budget. Seems the most popular choices around here are:
Whiplash TWag V2
DHC Symbiote
ALO IEM
MoonAudio Silver Dragon IEM

Search around the forums, you might find some info.

Then there's Piccolino that goes for $800+ :p

You know. In my review I completely forgot to mention the Sax on my test track, only one of the major parts! So the stranded silver seems to add a touch more reediness and breath to the sound. It also sounds less like a goose honking which I have found on lesser set up's Saxaphones can sound like.

For me silver seems to suite my tastes. I know there are a lot of folks out there making the stuff so give it a go if you like the sound I like. Cables definitely do make a difference for me. i know it is a hot topic on the forum but that has been my experience. I remember when i got my first ALO cable and heard the differences, quite amazing that a few centimetres of cable can do that. Being a non techy sort I have no idea why it does but it does!

X2.  I just love it as well and I'm really glad I got one.  Now if they could only support iDevice charging and make a unit with a balanced output...

Mike, why do i have a feeling your wish list will be granted with the next one!

And there I thought the SR71B was going to be the last expense at last :D

^^ Very exiting (expensive) times ahead for the likes of us portable junkies :)

Oh yes, the expense, oh the expense! But then again, I don't smoke, drink very little and am not into fashionable clothes so what the heck, this and flying will do me.

A fellow Head-fier and I just swapped Slims - his TTVJ for my Pico. This is all in the interest of exploration! So once that arrives, it will be fun to see how the TTVJ Slim synergizes with the CLAS and ES5. The The CLAS+Pico Slim+ES5  was quite remarkable but after much listening I determined it to be a bit bright to my tastes.

I will report back. The journey continues....

Very much looking forward to this, the more exploration the better everyone understands!

This is one of the reasons why I love the ibasso gear. I do tend to get a bit bored sometimes by the same signature over a long period of time. Being able to tailor/change the sound signature to suit other gear and phones or even just for the hell of it is a real clincher for me. Have you considered going down this route? Changing a set of OpAmps can be a whole lot more fun and cheaper than swapping and changing amps.

I know some may say that amps without the rolling option have components, circuits, OpAmps etc optimised but I've had both types over the years and the real proof is what your hear and enjoy. I kept my P4 and sold my 2Stepdance because with the right Opamps/Buffers the P4 was just a whole lot better sounding (and considerably cheaper).

Nigel, my only iBasso was the T3D. I didn't really like it and I returned it. (Great customer service.) So I haven't used a proper full spec iBasso portable amp.

Truth is, like many here (e.g. Ian...
smile.gif
), I am in love with the CLAS + Stepdance. I plan to still use that combination. I just want a more portable option. It's horses for courses. From my brief prior experience with the TTVJ Slim (very positive, but with an iMod not the CLAS), I am hoping that it will fit the bill.
