I think you've overlooked the importance of a CIEM case being 100% waterproof.

I've lost count of the number of times I've accidentally left my CIEMs in my jeans pocket and put them in the washing machine. Still, it keep the sound tubes nice and clean

Who overlooked this?

I would like to share an idea about the pelican cases. Wouldn't it be cool to have a separate pelican case per device? And have that device fit very snug?  Like have a tiny pelican case for the cIEMs, and a bigger pelican case for the DAP etc.

I've long thought it odd that these case makers don't make a modular system whereby the cases attach to each other.

As promised, here are the photos of my monitors with Pelican 1020 micro case. I am sorry for the delay, I was extremely busy in the lab, couldn't find a time to enjoy my head-fi surfing

The case is opening way much easier than Otter one. It saved my fingers basically. Seems like a durable as hell (just like Otter so no lose or gain here). It is bigger yes, in case anyone wants a comparison I can take photos next to Otter one I have. So it is bigger in every way. Extra deep is most welcome, now I am not worrying about crushing them with the lid. Also I don't have to spend minutes to manage the cable now. A quick roll around my fingers and put them in the case, 99% of the time I can close the lid directly without putting order to cables or something, they are already well placed.

So far, a happy purchase and if anyone looks for a bigger case, I can happily suggest them.

Nice, where did you buy it?

pelishop.de. I was going for amazon actually but they had problems, they didn't want to send unit to Belgium, at the end I was fed up, I didn't want to count on a few euros and ordered through official Pelican shop in Eu.

Today I tried to check some measurements about 1020 case interior part and DX50, I really think it should be okay. However if not, please don't get mad at me

. It will probably not as comfy as mine that's all.

Thanks man! I'll do the measurements myself, when the iBasso is delivered. It should be here tomorrow or monday :)

I still have some doubts about that unit. Apparently its output impedance is 3 or something like that not less than 1 as stated at iBasso's website. Also the quality seems to be changing by user to user. Some users have perfect experience some others have hiss and a lot of software or hardware related problems. I had very high hopes about that product but I feel like it still needs to be improved.

Again, for that price, its one of the best price/performance units around. However, I myself want to see FiiO X5 before purchasing something. Also Sony's new coming ZX1 seems to be a top range product but I am afraid it will be Japan only device. Maybe Sony has plans to build another audiophile level dap for worldwide market (I hope). Or if all else fails, one can import through pricejapan.com or something.

Lee seems to say the Rocoo BA from HSA sounds wonderful with the SE5 and I trust his judgment. This could be a good first option for you as it is very cheap.
