Well, with so many iems floating around, I figured I'll start an appreciation thread for the TD III.

I want to thank |joker| for recommending the TDIIIs.  I had never heard of the TDIIIs, until I posted in joker's huge IEM thread.  I was looking for something to compliment my Monster Turbines.  I love the MTs, but wanted a second pair of a similar, though not too distant from the MTs sound.  I think the Turbines do a great job overall with nothing too heavy or too lean.  For the music I listen to, the Turbines were a great fit.

|joker| recommended the TDIIIs .  I read his "woody" reviews of different woodies and took the plunge.  I ordered through their ebay store and the transaction was flawless with great communication throughout, even if the communication was in German...lol...A little Google translation and I was thanked for purchasing and the phones would be on their way.

The phones arrived and right out of the box, I knew I had made the right choice.  The overall spectrum is covered nicely but the bass is what did it.  It goes deep but does not overpower.  When I test new phones for bass response I put on a little Far East Movement.  Most of their songs have deeeeep bass lines throughout the entire song.  The TDIIIs handle this beautifully, while maintaining a balance.  I also listened to a little Porcupine Tree, Avenged Sevenfold and AVB for the initial round with different genres....They handle all genres nicely....

I'll put them through their paces but all in all a great purchase....Thanks joker...Good times...

Cool, glad you like the earphones. A comparison to the Turbines might be useful for those in search of bass-heavy IEMs in the price range

I ordered a set of these yesterday. Largely due to a combo of the joker reviews and value for money. Hope they are as good as they are reputed to be. Also, I'm new on here and am staggered by the dedication of some of the people on here. So many hours have gone into things like the review threads and those giving guides to some of the more technical aspects on this forum.

I've become totally fascinated in a subject that til now I had merely flirted with, by having had a couple of mid range iems in past, most notably the se210s, which sadly died on me a few months back...

They've arrived today! Pretty impressed considering they've come all the way from Germany!

Initial impressions are very positive. Only listened for about 1.5 hours though, as am at work. V good bass, but also pretty good detail. Their blowing my Phillips out of the water anyway, which is impressive considering I only spent £5 more on these...

I've also got some RE-0's coming in the post from a fellow Head-Fi'er, for which I paid an almost identical amount. Might do some sort of comparison / review when I get the chance.

Definitely x2 on this.  How are these compared to the Turbines?  I thought the Turbines were okay, but the bass and mid bass was a bit loose and muddy sounding and the highs and extensions a bit lacking for my personal preferred signature, do the Xears improve on those two qualities?

Got my pair of TDlll Blackwood today, parcel was sent on april 6th, so it took 1 week to get to Toronto, Ontario, Canada (item shipped from Germany).  I purchased these through the amazing deal (thanks joker!) coupon code so final price on these babies were 33 Euro or $ 46 Canadian, no duties/tax : D, came in a no frills small bubble wrap envelope
I am currently burning them in, will do a comparison later with the iems at hand : westone 2 and UE triple fi
First impressions are very positive, thoroughly impressed, will write more later

Hey ive had these for almost a month. They are absolutely fantasic. The bass extends as deep as atrio m8s (old driver), vocals are smooth and slightly forward and there is plenty of detail. No theyre not balanced but so fun; great for rap, hip-hop, dubstep and more. However build quality is a bit flimsy with the strain reliefs. My pair is broken (cable came loose) but Thomas of xears is promising a new pair.

I had the chance to compare with turbine coppers. The coppers have slightly more clarity and a bit more detail but to my ears, the vocals seemed a bit thinner and the bass wasnt enough for me from the coppers.

Amazing sound, good customer service but not sure about the build quality

Just got my TD-III as well.  Shipping took less than 10 days from Germany to US.
There's not as much wood grains on the housing as I thought.  I would've thought it's plastic if I didn't look closely.  They also weigh less than the original Turbine due to the different housing materials, despite the similarity in shapes.
No driver flex issues for me so far.
Straight out of package, they sound quite bassy already.  The highs don't extend as much as Eterna v1, which kind of surprised me because I consider Eterna to be dark.  So far it sounds a little warmer than Turbine, maybe a little bass bleed too.  I guess only more burn-in will tell.
TD-III's foam tips fits well, but are slightly smaller and stiffer than Shure's medium-sized olives.
