Is anyone else having a really hard time loading Head-fi in Firefox? Whenever I visit Head-fi, it takes far longer to load up a page than in Chrome, and whenever it is loading, Firefox freezes up. Any additional pages/threads I open up in new tabs will also cause the freeze until the page is fully loaded (which takes a long time). I don't have this problem in Chrome at all. I just updated to Firefox 3.6.14 and that didn't help.

I am also experiencing slow responses with Firefox 3.6.14. Same problem existed with version 3.6.13.

Same here as well.  The boards have felt slow for a couple of weeks now, but it got much worse when Firefox updated to 3.6.14 it seems.  It takes a full minute to post, and usually errors out.  While editing a double post the software spammed it re-posted the edited message as a whole new third message too after spinning its gears for a long time.  That was a new one.  :)

Yes, head-fi runs really poorly in Firefox but to be honest using IE6, 7, 8, etc.  it also runs extremely slowly.

Anyone else have suggestions for turning on/off things to get it to run faster?

Also, the pics open so freaking slow in the FS forum it's ridiculous.

Please help.

I just updated to Firefox 4 and it's much better now.

One problem still remains though--often when I'm typing a post and the formatting will get screwed up, and I can't continue to type where I was and can only type from the beginning of the post. I would have to click on the Source button and then go back again for it to be normal.

Same problem here.  There is no cursor insertion point.  If you have to move around anywhere to make edits it is not possible, you can't even highlight the text to copy/paste and start over.  Very frustrating.

I also have this problem with Firefox 4. And I also experience it with PMs - but again that old trick of clicking on Source button a couple of times works!

OMG, thanks for the tip.  After upgrading to Firefox 4, the replying was driving me insane.  I was about to post a thread asking about it but you solved my problem.

Thanks jjinh!!

I gave up on Firefox. Version 4 runs sluggishly and freezes for a few seconds at a time on a number of websites, HeadFi included. The issue is across multiple computers, so it's not an isolated issue. I'm using Chrome now, even though I don't like the way it handles bookmarks :p

never had speed issues with firefox, and its all ive ever used, but your posting issue is well known to the mods, and they cant get it fixed.
the work around is to hit the source button as you do
