Sound amazing, just wondering.. I got the amplifier on high gain 64-300ohm, would it be better sounding at at Extra High gain 300ohm-600ohm? what do you guys use on your hd 600s and 650s?

I use extra high gain, it seems to give a little better bass.

They all sound the same to me and I believe it's just what it claims to be: simple gain IE more volume.

You have the ability to check yourself but want to be told what your hears are going to hear for you, seems idiotic to me.

My first post here

This is the combination I use to listen to FLAC through Foobar. I like the sound, nice detail, a bit low on bass though, but the bass that is present is tight and punchy, which is what I prefer.

I use the highest gain setting and find it gives the best control, these phones are hard to drive.

Quite a bump there.

Coincidentally, the differences between gain settings were just recently discussed in the tweaking/impressions thread. The only difference is volume.

Haha, I didn't realise how old the post was, I'll check out the new thread...

And yes, I do feel the sound quality remains the same throughout the gain range which is a good thing.
