This quick review is done after a few hours of listening. I bought them from B&H for the decent sum of 150$. If you've done your research you'll find out that Ultrasone HPs are known for their...
I auditioned the SRH-1840 straight out of the box, and was unsatisfied with the sound, so I decided to give them a period of break-in. Recent scientific studies have shown definite differences...
I didn't think of TEAC when I began searching for a dedicated CD player. My initial short list included Denon, Cambridge, Marantz, Onkyo. The Teac intrigued me, so I went for it. It is very...
Sennheiser HD-598s are the most comfortable headphones I've had the opportunity to use. I recommend these wholeheartedly for any first-time hi-fi buyer because of their excellent soundstage and...
Oh my damn!!! Okay, I don't need another universal, but you knows those are calling me just on styling alone!!
And if they sound like the MDs (but how can they?) that's good too. Whoa, but if the sound better. Okay, I'm happy with my customs, but I sure like the look of these. Must resist!!
It is very unique but doesn't it look like they will snap off in the center after some time?
I wonder if Monster is going to step up the quality control for these by which I mean no drivers failing or getting low volume in one side, drivers not coming apart from the shell, and strain releifs staying in place.

Hey, but you gotta hand it to them for unique design. Of course, universal appeal is something else.

I wouldn't worry so much about the 'hourglass' housings as they're probably solid brass like Monster's other earphones; rather, the cables and housing joints are the main areas of concern for me. Personally, my Turbines are fine after a year of use, but there's been way too many horror stories of multi-hundred dollar Turbine Pros falling apart on this forum. Monster had better improve build quality not just for this model, but in their manufacturing process in general.

Maybe - if what you mean by 'tweak' is a permanent change from 'good' to 'crap.'
Monster Cable reminds me of Apple Computer, actually - they have their own interesting innovations and pretty designs, but they're also legally aggressive and like to jack up their prices. Fortunately, though, Monster's products are much easier to acquire significantly below their MSRP.
lol good one guys. Anyways, I'll be tempted to get these but only if they get positive reviews from reliable sources. A good fit seems hard with that housing and as Anaxilus mentioned, I doubt the bass (and dynamics) of the MD Tributes will be replicated or at least be formidable with, considering such a small driver. Who knows until you hear it thought...
