Looking for headphones comparable to the Beats Solo is like looking for a car with horsepower comparable to a tricycle.
 
Anyways, the K450s are okay for 80 dollars. As for 80 euros, I'm not so sure. The AIＡＩＡＩ　ＴＭＡ－１ｓ　ｉｓｏｌａｔｅ　ｍｏｒｅ　ａｎｄ　ａｒｅ　ｍｏｒｅ　ｓｕｉｔｅｄ　ｆｏｒ　ｅｌｅｃｔｒｏｎｉｃ　ｍｕｓｉｃ。　Ｉ　ｄｏｕｂｔ　they're ｃａｒｒｉｅｄ　ｉｎ　ｌｏｃａｌ　ｓｔｏｒｅｓ，　ｔｈｏｕｇｈ, and they're quite expensive.　ES7s, perhaps?
 
I'm sure there are many more bassy portables around 80 euros. I just can't come up with any right now. This is where I 'phone a friend,' I guess.

With that said my first question is should I go for in ear or on ear. I want to be able to wear the headphones for about 2 hours without discomfort... Also I'll be using headphones in public quite often so if its on ear I want some good looking headphones (not too big, I dont like that. More like beats solo style). If its in ear the looks dont really matter I guess. I want audio comparable to the beats solo, cause it sound amazing! and noice cancelling. I also want a travel case (ill be taking them with me alot) and a firm cable. I want to be able to separate the cable from the headphones itself and I rather not have a plastic look.
 
I know i'm kind of comparing everything to the beats solo now but thats because its the only headphones I listened to besides my crappy earplugs. 
So I can simply buy the beats but I read that they are quite overpriced and I want to make a good choice. I dont want to pay alot of money just for the brand cause I dont care about brands, I care about looks and quality. Thats why I also want to consider other headphones apart from the solos. My price range is about  70-100 euros (netherlands). If its really awesome sound and good looking im willing to pay more. I prefer to buy my stuff in local stores too.
 
So with this information can you guys recommend me some good headphones? should I just buy beats? are there equal cheaper ones?
I did some search and I found the AKG k450 for about 80 euros. maybe thats a better option for me?

have you tried sony XB series? they are probably better with the same bassy sound ( i only own  XB 70 in ear earphones which are really really bassy) another good choice is the sennheiser cx300 which is a lot cheaper then 100 euros it is also really bassy........  if you want headphones the audio technica M50 (which im planing to buy when there is stock in australia ) they look decent and sound decent

Hey, I'm looking to buy some headphones primarily for films and games. I want them to have a very wide soundstage for surround sound in Dolby headphone. I had originally been recommended the ad700s, but the reports of poor bass have put me off that option.
 
What would be a good choice for up to c.£150?
 
Ideally, they would also have decent performance for music (rock/pop/classical), though I can see the classical might be difficult to find in game/film headphones.
 
I had also considered the sennheiser rs 170s. Going wireless is attractive, but Im not willing to sacrifice sound quality for it if there is better to be had at the same price. 
 
Bear in mind that these will be my first decent headphones and my perception is that this is a good sort of price range to start in- ill probably get better ones in a year or so, but I'd like the best possible to grow into in the mean time.

The XB series doesn't isolate that well but they are certainly bassy. I'd go for the XB500 is his situation. Maybe a Skullcandy Aviator? Those certainly run less than the suggestions below.
 
There are a lot of recommendations I could make around 200 USD (the sweet spot for portables). AIAIAI TMA-1, HD 25-1 II, V Moda M80, DT1350, Phiaton MS 300, ESW9,
 
But it seems you have a lower budget...I'm somewhat at a loss too. The XB 500 or 300 would be my best suggestion.

Find a used pair of HD 598s. If you don't want to buy used a Senn 5xx is still my go to for something like this.
 
More bass than the AD700, huge sound stage, easily powered, works well for all your stated genres (especially classical), and it's my go to gaming headphone with simulated surround sound.

Bassy portable with good isolation?  PX360 fits the bill.  It has a lot of bass... and for how much impact it carries it isn't all that slow either.  There is a strange dip in the low mids (unusual for sennheiser) but the treble is nice and sparkly too.  I wouldn't be all that surprised if you thought they beat the pants off the beats either.  Similar impact, but way richer and tighter bass at the same time... and the treble response is just in a different tier compared to the beats.   The fold into a really small bag, are the best passive isolating headphones I've tried, and are built tough (while still being really lightweight).  Part of me wishes I had held onto mine because the physical functionality is just that good.  Check my impressions in the link in my signature.
 
Just because I didn't necessarily prefer the sound signature (decided to keep my HD 448 instead of the PX 360) doesn't mean the PX 360 is a slouch at what it does.  It is very lively and require no amplification.
 
I also just demoed an HD-25 I-II and was quite impressed.  Very punchy with no sacrifice to the mids.  I found the soundstage very narrow and the isolation to be mediocre compared to the PX360 however.
 
The PX360 go for about 150USD here in the US.

I think I can't get my hands on an ES7 here. Also I want really good sound so if you saying they are 'okay' im starting to think that its not quite amazing sound.

I think the XB's are too cheap, I want a good quality headphone. also I find the on-ears too big but thanks for the reply
 
I'm not a skullcandy fan either. I dont need al the facy stuff just a nice slick looking headphone which is not too small and I dont want it to go over my ears just on them if you know what I mean

They're bad for their price. If you were okay with larger cans I'd recommend the Xone 53.
 
Beats are 80% look 20% sound. That's why they get no love around here. Their build quality is very poor as well.

You could sell the BB store credit to a site like plasticjungle.com
They'll take a little cut of it, but you can exchange it for an Amazon gift card and they'll take off less than if you were to ask for cash from them

Never thought of that. Sounds pretty cool, but I don't think my mother would allow me to do that (She gave me the money for my 18th birthday, so she's "in control" of it)
 
What they have at the BBs around my area are Bose, Beats, Skullcandy, Sennheisers, Klipsch, Sonys. I don't recall any Shures anywhere and I think I saw an AKG700 once, but that's about it.

I'm new here and looking to drop $30 USD (amazon gift credit) on a good pair of headphones that could replace or compliment my HD-202s. I tend to buy used so anything goes.
 
My typical music tastes: rock, alternative, pop, ska, techno, house
 
Headphones I currently have:
 

1. Sennheiser HD 202 (my current main headphones)
2. JVC HA-FX67B (Falls out of ear during jogging)
3. Koss Sparkplug (good, but annoying to put in ears)

 
I'm looking into over-the-ear headphones.  I typically like closed headphones, but sound fidelity and comfort take higher priority.  I want something that is comfy, aesthetically pleasing, and plays well with the above genres.  I might also use the new headphones for TV and movies. I'm currently open to suggestion, but these seem to have caught my attention.
 

1. Panasonic RP-HTX7 (The classy retro look is catchy)
2. Koss PortaPro

If you think the PX 360 are too big, you're likely going to think on-ear is too big.  They're similar in size even though that are technically "full sized" being circumaural.  These are the smallest circumaural cans I have seen, also.
 
Since you were concerned about aesthetics, I personally think they look pretty slick.  The leather padded headband is nice.

For on ear, there is always the HD-25-1 II which was also pretty punchy
