same here, I had a great opportunity to get these but decided not to. I had bad experiences with them and didn't find their sound all that appealing.

Welcome to the club :p Although I wouldn't buy it if I was awake when the deal was up so not much lost on my side. I don't need to spend more money on another universal earphone.

LOL, nevermind, at this rate, I think they will be 89.99 next year~

wow i guess i was really lucky to get two pairs of these, seeing that many people missed out.
but don't worry i'm not reselling them or trying to make a profit.
i got one for my sister (xmas gift) and another for myself.
but might give it to my mom.
but in case i decide to keep it, can anyone tell me how the process of getting a custom mold works?

Are you in the US? I think this is Unique Melody's US website: http://www.custom-iem.com/

Unique Melody and Fisher are two companies that I've heard of which do reshelling; of the two, I've only heard that UM has a pretty good rep.

Here's the process:
1. Get ear moulds/impressions done at an audiologist
(**Note: reshelling prices tend to exclude audiologist costs)

2. Send the moulds to UM/Fisher
3. Wait impatiently.

Thanks a lot.
Hmm $159 isn't too bad considering the price i got the triplefi's for.
But I think I read on another thread that someone got it for around $80.
Do you know around how much it costs to get the ear molds done?

Radio-head: not sure abt details, unfortunately. I'm not American. Try searching some of the UM, Fisher, and customs threads for discussions on audiologists in your city? Have heard that doing ear moulds for IEMs isn't the same as doing ones for hearing aids, and so you'll want an audiologist familiar with that process.

You are probably referring to this thread.

http://www.head-fi.org/forum/thread/454174/iems-reshelled-into-custom-molds-80-in-the-usa-triplefi-10-se530-etc-from-fisher-hearing

There are a lot of info in the thread regarding the procedure, cost etc etc

From what I gather,  if you have question, it is always best to call/contact them directly and ask for clear instruction. They want your business so it is to their interest to let you know exactly what/when/how to do it.

After you are clear on what is expected on your part etc, ask them if they know any audiologist in your area or just search for one on google.  Call them and ask for quote for ear impressions.  From previous threads, these goes from $30ish - $75... some do a quick exam, some prolly don't.

Then follow instruction you received from the reshelling place and wait...

Please note, anyone who purchased these or is looking for a cheap pair, commercial sales (selling for a profit and "flipping" items just purchased for higher than the purchase amount) aren't allowed on the forums.   I've just warned a bunch of people and deleted their threads or posts where they were attempting or encouraging this.

Let's keep those greedy ones out of here.

Nope no charge yet. I believe it'll be charged before the 25th of December if it ever happens. I'm not going to cancel and wait it out. Hopefully I won't get an email saying that they cancelled my order before Christmas. This deal is just too good to give up on...

For those who are waiting for the 25th december, did your credit card get charged yet or not?

Folks, I would like to recommend the aftermarket double flange silicone tips for these plugs. When I got mine last year I soon realized that the included tips won't work and I was planning to get custom molds before I found some cheap aftermarket double flanges. They work so weel, they block nearly all the noise around me and the bass response with them is phenomenal, rivaling the Sennheiser IE-8 but with a lot more spark on the high end and a lot more details. They definitely worth a try. Unfortunately the seller whom I bought the gels from no longer listed on ebay, but I'm sure you can find them elsewhere.
