THE best female vocals? (your favorite female singers) - Page 141

I have during the last year collected a bunch of female vocalists in a Spotify playlist. It currently contains 1482 tracks mainly in the JAZZ genre.

I prefer to add the full CD from each artist. That makes the playlist a great "radio station" when playing random tracks.

I hope you like it, and hopefully get some inspiration.

I don't recall Karen Souza having been mentioned. I LOVE her interpretations.

Great stuff, Thanks for posting!

Karen Souza. I did not know her. Kind of similar approach in making well known tunes her own and maybe even better than the original as my favorite Carmen Gomes.

Thanks for posting. I knew that Dave Douglas is a great composer but that he can write songs this beautiful too...impressive.

Imogen Heap might be favorite. She's brilliant.

First Aid Kit, 2 Swedish sisters, are brilliant and heavenly.

I also love Lights Poxleitner.

And Niykee Heaton is a great up-and-coming talent.

And for something completely different...
I'm a big fan of Maria Brink of In This Moment

A while ago somebody posted in here about a Costa Rican band, Passiflora, and I find myself having to visit the US embassy in San Jose. I just arrived at my hotel, log in to my Facebook and see a notification that Passiflora played at a music festival last night.. About ten blocks from where I am sitting. 😥

Did anybody mention Ernestine Anderson?

As kitschy and schmaltzy as you want to consider the music her voice still holds up after all these years. RIP Karen Carpenter.

Sarah Brightman, no contest. She plans on being the first artist to record music in outer space, via the Virgin Galactica commercial space flight!
