nice

On another side note I've recently Discovered how wind resistant the SR80i are . Because of there 'sleek' headband they don't whistle in the wind like my HD25's can .Also because the cans are so open any breeze retains it's "natural" sound characteristics .

So the Grado Sr's Series are excellent if your also wanting to hear the music and the environment sound together

Yes, Cabillas's cup look fantastic. I ordered two (one Sapelle and one Iroko) and the tracking number shows that it has arrived at my local post office. Hopefully I can get my hands on them tomorrow.

Stefan is helping me with some silver cables as well, and the progress looks great so far. He's been great with communication and sending me pictures of the steps along the way. He's actually very thorough and I'm learning lots of a cables just by his detailed explanations.

I'm hoping to get to my parents's house during the July 4th weekend to get my hands on my dad's soldering gun and going to work on my first modded Grados.

I love the friendliness that I've come across in this community in my short time here (since February). Everyone isstoked off of the same things and wants to help each other out whenever they can.

Hey guys, someone directed me to this forum to ask about how the jmoney wooden cups might affect the sound of my sr225i's. Can anyone help me out with some info about the sq change?

Cabillas, I don't know if you understand toilet humor, but I have a major erection right now.

Dammit I don't even want to ask how much those things cost, I had enough of a hard time doing my recable. I'd kill somebody for RS-1 cups to complete the transformation and say goodbye to my Grado upgradeitis.

Great job, thank you for what you're doing for the community!

Here is my recent SR-60 recable I've posted on other threads. I can make this cable to share with other people too if they're interested.

You might want to look in mlantinen's direction for RS-1 cups, Cabillas does a more GS1000-esque styled cup.

Unless you plan on buying them second hand, you won't get those from jmoney anymore. I tried and he ignored every attempt I tried to contact him, I don't think he makes them anymore, same goes for the headbands.

Plenty of other people to get woodies from here though, I'll leave the sound description to someone who has wood cups.

He's selling them for a very reasonable price actually.

And beautiful cable, love the wood. Mind sharing how you made the plug?

That's a very cool cable, Chris... can u post more photos? I'd like to see the woodwork, if u don't mind.

As far as headbands go, didn't I read in this thread that Big Bill makes custom leather headbands? I may have that wrong but I thought it was Big Bill...

To get a seriously good RS1 imitation, you're probably going to have to look elsewhere as Nightslayer said. However, check that link in Cabillas' post on the last page with the opened HF2. You may be surprised at how affordable they are. Seeing how he basically is a business at this point, I don't want to start advertising for him by posting prices and everything, but there's some info (page is in Spanish, which translates weirdly in places) on that page or you could PM him.

Anyway, as little as I listen to my Grados anymore (I like the speaker presence better most times) I can't say I need a re-cable, but those things look great. Are they silver or copper? Do you have any interest in making speaker cables instead (same 4 braid, but longer, with bananas)?

Jmoney doesnt make cups anymore. I'd consider Cabillas or Marty. It really depends on what your looking for Cabillas appears to be making very high quality wwod cups and Marty's stuff is more like works of art. As far as the sound goes I've been trying to get a discussion on that started in this thread. Check it out I have a write up on some 225's I just woodied with a comparison to my HF2's and a pair of MS Pro's that another headfier loaned me, and I just linked a Stereophile article of John Grado talking about wood. There is one post from a contibutor in this thread that has a pair of Cabillas cups and a post from another contributor of this thread that has some Marty cups. Marty himself has contributed also. So Cabillas if you would like to drop bt and give your 2 cents, please do.
