Any of your guys own iems?  Which iems do you guys think can match or gets closest to the sound of HE-6?

My Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor ( UERM ) are the closest one i have evrer heared. both are extremely detailed neutral and tend to disappear in the music flow. I drive them cEntrance hi-fi m8.

Thanks to a jammed-packed schedule I hadn't any HE-6 time in a while now. Hope Monday or Tuesday night is one of re-acquaintance and restoration.

I have never heard the UERM's. But the ES5 sounds the closest to the HE6 in my IEM inventory.

I drive my HE-6 with an EF6, which I am very satisfied by, but I was wondering if anyone here greatly prefers another amp for it. Maybe a speaker amp?

Check this link, @preproman had compared them few months back

My He 6 is now "grill-less" & I am loving the air & extension on the treble. The only down side is have to handle the cups more carefully now as there is no protection.

Does anyone (who has replaced the stock grills, with more open grills , like in the pic below) have a spare set of the more open grills. I am not very good at DIY hence I will buy the spare set off you. Please PM me if you have any.

I preferred my Audio-gd Master-6 when I compared the two. More dynamic, lively, better bass and better details. 40% more power may have a bearing on this.
This was running both via XLR, switching my M6 to ACSS increased the differences even more.

I actually liked the EF-6 with the T1's best.

It's strange that my regrilling mod is only being picked up full-force by the HE6 community, well over a year after I documented it. I guess you guys are a wary bunch

I tahink there would be a small but fine market here for someone manufacturing those grills. Anybody? I am interested too.:)

I have few spare ones, I can send you if you cover the shipping cost.

I tried driving my HE-6 by a Woo WA6SE today and it certainly could get loud without clipping. I wonder if there is still some loss of clarity or bass impact if the Woo isn't powerful enough. I'll have to compare carefully to the EF6. I mean, the Woo seemed powerful based on the volume it reached, but it may have been lacking something subtle.

EDIT; by the way anyone else tried a Woo WA6SE with the HE-6?

No where near enough; won't sound even close to it's potential~
