Ive only had them a couple of weeks so they are probably still burning in ( if such a thing exists) but today the bass seems to have disappeared almost completely and everything else has become startlingly bright and clear, but almost painful to listen to, are they faulty? Is this part of the burn in process? am I going mad?

Ok, ignore me, it seems that for some reason they just sound really really thin straight outa my icon mobile DAC and foobar, back to my normal listening with fuze and icon mobile they sound miles better, weird.

the OP doesn't like going with the norm..most people pair it with a warm amp like what I hear the ibasso T4 (or is it T3) is :p

Just an update to my impulsive and nonsensical post just in case anyone is interested-
Im still not at all happy with the bass on my RE0's, how the heck are you supposed to listen to dub and electronica on these?
One of my fave albums at the moment 'Skull Disco - Soundboy Punishments' sounds wonderful on my pl30's but on the RE0's it is almost unlistenable, completely trebly, no bass pulse at all, sounds like its had the life sucked out of it. They make my AD700's sound like bass monsters.
Hmmm.

Lol what bass are you talking about? They never had any to begin with. It's the same thing with the HD600's, you really don't listen to those genre's of music with them unless you want a subpar experience. Either that or boost the bass to distortion levels which would be easily remedied with another iem/headphone choice.

I guess I shall just stick to listening to folk, jazz. ambient and acoustic music on them ( for which they are wonderful)
Tis funny how headphones can mess with your head, I was sure they had more bass when I first got them, I suppose where Ive been listening to my PL30's more, going back to the RE0's for bassy music makes their lightness of bass stand out in sharp contrast.

Weird, I dont really listen to rock much but listening to dub style electronica music now they dont seem to have any slam at all to me, so little in fact that for a while I'd concinced myself they were faulty, the bass is there, but its so slight it has no impact at all. Im just doing an A/B comparison on fuze/ icon mobile and flac file between RE0 and PL30 now and the difference is very obvious, PL30 have deep impactful bass ,RE0 has lots of clarity but pathetic bass. Simply no good for this type of music.

I feel they are not being powered correctly by your Icon Mobile, maybe try getting a better portable amp.

Maybe worth a go. Ive got a cowon D2 coming my way too so the EQ setting on that might help.
Just tried RE0 and PL30 on my creek 4040 home amp and interesting result,
RE0 still sound very light bass, PL30 bass even bigger but now too boomy and not as tight as through Icon.

It could very much be your tips, what are you using.

Im using the longer white ones that were already fitted, Ive tried the shorter white ones and one of the smaller black ones with not too much difference, I think it was the really small black ones I couldnt get to fit on there but will try again. The ones fitted seem to be a good seal though. Might try some that came with PL30.
Many thanks for your help
