I'm guessing from context in the poster's notes, it has less to do with the US in his case, and more to do with accessibility. I can print and ship something domestically from the office, and use the corp mailroom, without seriously impacting my daily schedule. Making the trip to the post office represents a totally unplanned detour which could carve out as much as 30 minutes of my already packed day, and that's assuming no lines.

I find the hassle of payment acceptance to be highly variable as well. After one experience, I know that I'll be accepting only PayPal payments. Sorry to those who may think I'm discriminating. The problem is that for the life of me, I can't understand why some money being transferred to my bank account requires me to come in and sign an authorization form. I may have time in the evening when the banks are closed, so online banking and teller machines have been a godsend. Having to go to a bank to fill out and sign an authorization form is such a huge difference in hassle.

Yeah I wouldn't even think of accepting anything other than Paypal, except maybe cash for local deliveries.

Not that I speak for everyone here, but I'm too damn fucking lazy to ship internationally.

That's all it is, for me.

Wrapping anything up and putting it in a box is enough work for me

I hold no grudge against those who don't ship things internationally as it is much more hassles for the sellers. They have to worry if the package was not damaged or worse lost in transit and if the buyer is genuine or not.

That said I have bought quite a few things from the US and all have reached me safely without any problem. I had to pay customs duties only once as the seller declared full value.
