In audio, as in most everything manufactured, quality goes up linearly and price goes up exponentially. So you're always going to be paying more and more for less and less of an improvement.

That said, Skylab - in his massive review of 37+ amps - said that using the T4 was no better for many phones than using nothing at all. And personally, when I tried: iphone-TF10s vs iphone-e5-TF10s vs iphone-T3-TF10s, I found that the e5 made a SLIGHT difference vs nothing, but almost not enough to justify carrying it at all. The T3, however, made a significant difference in SQ. Something like the RSA Tomahawk or Corda XXS would have a slightly better SQ, but be many times the size.
