As you can see in my sig I am using AKG K450 and HD555 and these are not of the highest rank

I hope the ESW9s will be a good upgrade. I am also thinking however, about one more pair. Either IEMs, and I have already decided these would be Senn IE8s, or cans of a bit lower price though. I am thinking about ES7s, but they seem to be pretty similar to ESW9s and that would not be what I want. I would like to have a few pairs of different cans/ IEMs so that I can pick which ones I want to listen to.

I will have to go with that to the portable headphones forum and get some mor insight into that.

I personally wouldn't bother trying to improve the sound when out and about, as the 10's don't have enough isolation for it to be worth bothering with. I'd instead get a good DAC and amp for home use for them.

Well you guys got me thinking about *not* spending my money on any more headphone gear and instead focus on the source. Well maybe some ear moulds for my ER4Ps... but only after I get rid of some old gear I have.

The comment on the netbook; well its going to be down to personal choice. If you want a notebook PC you get a cheap and bad laptop, if you need basic capabilities sure, though there are 160,000 apps for the iPad now.

I'm figuring with this I can enjoy what I have even more or at least trying to convince myself I could. There is the improved capacity over my 8GB iPhone (64GB) and of course you can really watch things on this puppy too in HD with supposedly 10 hours of battery. Still toying with the idea but its going to take me a little more convincing!
