Yes, it is an opamp based amplifier. As Gilbert puts it - it is all about implementation. He deliberately masked the opamp used in his amp.

OMG, what a beautiful amp !!! Can't wait for those caps to get smooth so we can read about your SQ comparisons !!!

BTW, while we're waiting, could you kindly summarize your feelings about your other amps, please ? I see that you may have said in your prior postings and reviews, but I'd like just the 'gist', if you don't mind. Thanks !

The op amps are terrific. The implementation is more advanced than in other products. It should sound fantastic. My experience with the high capacitance was in contrast to Skylab's. I found they brought not only a high degree of transparency, but also imparted a sense of movement (forward and back) to individual voices and instriments. They just lept out at you when they started up and then retreated when they stopped. On the other hand, I am not entirely sure I wan't moving forward and back from the instruments, but for sure there is a great sense of depth created by all those caps + absolute silence that enhances that feeling.

I did not pay much attention to the amp over the past week due to work. The Isabellina battery run out from time to time so I have to charge it before the burn-in can continue.

But still, the Blue Circle FLO Amp is getting better. Impressive resolution - amongst the best of class. Realistic proportions - both head-stage and instruments - this is most difficult for many headphone amps. Well textured bass - a bit polite but good quality. Very good layering that display good depth of sound stage. And most impressive of all, very airy, clean spatial distribution, articulated layering of sound.

Still very early and only with Edition 8 in single end mode. Later on I will try it with my balanced HD800 ( this is one monster special HD800 with balanced headphone cable made out of Cardas Golden Reference Phono cable).

Will keep every one posted.

It does not belong to me, but is on loan from a fellow head-fier who spent some big money to have it made, and according to him, is the best ever balanced cable for HD800 he has heard.

Some photos of this monster cable taken earlier :

that Shallco stepped attenuator is truly a thing of beauty. it looks to be either a work of art, or a sensor on the LHC, I haven't made up my mind yet...

great amp!

you have an amazing set up! I've used nagra gear in the pro world and would love to hear some of the their "consumer" focused products.

thanks for the "gear ****" post!
