Hey, I made a thread here half a year ago asking for help picking an iem. I eventually went with the ADDIEM for $35. Recently (yesterday) they seem to have died on me or something, they still work but the left speaker is extremely weak and the right one jumps between decent and weak. I don't know what I did to cause this, or if I did anything at all, but it seems I need a new pair.

Anyone know where I can get another pair for $30-$40? Or, maybe since half a year has passed, any better deals on better iems in this price range? Thanks.

Yeah, I can't seem to find the seller I bought from on ebay again.

And basically the same sound as the ADDIEMs provided, they did good isolation and music sounded great, heard all the details I miss with my HD555s due to external noise. I could always use more bass, but I hear I should try some different tips before I decided the ADDIEMs can do it well, and even then they do it just fine from what I've heard through them.

Just all around greatness is what I need, nothing all that specific, I listen to a lot of different music, rap, rock (especially alternate), sometimes pop or classic, a bit of most genres.

Really? They'll just replace them, no questions asked? That sounds too good to be true, especially from a company's perspective.

Oh and ipoodz, what exactly are you talking about? There are different versions of the ADDIEM? How many?

So it might be that my filters are clogged. How do I go about cleaning them from the inside? Sticking them in some peroxide now as recommended by another user.

Also, what's directly accessible to one from the holes in the buds? What's closest to the hole? I stupidly stuck a needle into the left one using the "hit it til it works" philosophy, and I don't think I did any damage but it'd be good to check.

Also, so for $30-$40 the ADDIEMs are some of the best iems? Or are there better ones? Or is it the opposite and it's one of the best for an even higher price (the msrp maybe?).

I'm just a little uneasy because I don't have a problem with their sound quality at all, but with these sorts of things it's always a "don't know what you're missing" sort of deal.

Peroxide worked, that and a bit of needle action to get rid of specific blocked holes.

I switched to the medium sized tips from the small ones, I think I hear a difference but that could be a placebo sort of effect. Anyone got any bass-filled tracks I can check out to make sure?

I don't think you can find "better" ones at $30-40. I would say it's pretty competitive even at $79, unless you're looking for bassy phones.

I tried Atrio M5s, ie8s, UE Triple Fi's, Hippo VBs, V-moda Vibes, PK2s and now my main rig is Ibasso T3 + PK1. They are all good phones, each with different sound signatures. It all depends on what you like, and what you consider as good price / performance ratio. Personally, I had to try them to make sure I don't miss much. If you ask me, there's a big jump in terms of SQ from ibuds to "good" ~$100 phones, but after that the difference is rather small. It comes down to fit, comfort, durability, sound signature, etc.

Of course, you would not know this unless you try them... (which was my case)

You can probably get a pair of Nuforce ne-7ms which is a good upgrade from the addiems.

Edit: Amazon is selling a pair for $49.
