Newegg isn't an authorized Shure reseller.

I bought the SE530 from Newegg and decided to make sure that they would be covered by Shure in case of any cable problems, and was told by Shure in an email, that they would not honor the warranty since Newegg was not an authorized reseller.

However:

I was told on the phone by Shure customer service that Shure would replace the SE530's as long as I had the reciept.
But, since I recieved an email stating otherwise, I decided to call Newegg and asked them what they could do.

I'm waiting on Newegg to let me know what it plans on doing about the warranty. As I'm still within the 30 day return window.

This sounds like more a Shure issue than a Newegg one. I'll add my praise to that already listed here--I've always experienced uncommon customer service from the folks at Newegg. It may sound like a stretch, but it would not surprise me if you get a better response from Newegg than you did from Shure. And usually that's the other way around.

You're talking about THE best place to shop on the internet, period. I heard it's second biggest, behind Amazon, but then Amazon hosts all those awful third-party sellers.

Surprising they're not an authorized dealer for Shure... Big mistake on Shure's part if you ask me.

I think one could say it's a Newegg issue as well, since they don't give full disclosure that the IEM's might not have any warranty.

Don't get me wrong I am a fan of Newegg and have spent thousands of dollars over the years, but for Newegg to over look something like this is not a good thing if the SE530 cable breaks down in 6 months.

Newegg is one of the best sites on the Internet. Been using them for nearly a decade or so!

I don't see anything wrong with Amazon either as long you buy from the Amazon authorized dealer.

Are you serious dude?

Newegg is the second largest e-tailer in the U.S. (Amazon is #1.)

They take thousands of orders on a bad day and a simple search on resellerratings will tell you what kind of company they are.
