HD-25 I-II or ED-8, i'm not a fan of the ATs, although they look prety cool, i'm not sure there is much substance to the sound. every time I try them; my eyes want to love them, but i'm left scratching my head why they are so popular
Am I missing something? I searched ED-8 and all I found was a really expensive Ultrasone Edition 8 headphone. Is that what you're referring too?

I kinda hope it is, because it makes those HD 25-1 IIs in the mail feel like a good buy

EDIT: Goldring looks promising, too. Has anyone tried the DR150s? Isn't ljokerl selling some?
Lol I've tried the DR150. They're very, very open cans. Good sound and very easy to drive, but too open for portable use. I even had a custom 3.6' cable made for them to use them on the go (as opposed to a stock 9' cable).

Yep, those are the ED-8 referred to. There are very few truly high-end portables .

I'm not sure the ED-8 is truly high-end from reading many reviews. It doesn't have a good impression on many people. Then again, the ED9 didn't do so hot either with a large crowd.
