Well guys I own an RS1i now... brand new...

It pairs great with the Glenn OTL! But then almost anything sounds good out of a Glenn amp lol

Same goes for the GS1000 and SR325is, running a RWM driver, a RCA 3DG4 rec, and a pair of Tung-Sol 5998's output tubes.

Sounds like you have the e Series already. From Grado's Facebook page:
We know that sometimes when you get something, the next day (sometimes literally) a new version comes out. Now, we haven’t had a new line up in years - but we still know that’s a bummer. So to avoid transition woes, we’ve slowly shipped The e Series as the ‘i’ for the last 2-3 months (minus the ‘e’ engraving). If you recently bought Grados and you have a red driver (look through the back), then that means you have an e Series headphone already!

Playing with the G Cush and comparing with the regular L  Cush.  listening to Swans To Be Kind. Comfortable, yes, maybe a bit more soundstage, but I don't like the loss in detail. Back to L Cush.

My thoughts exactly.....it is nice for a change of pace, but not near as good as L-cushion.

I did like the flats on the 225 though.

Hi lads,

Can someone give me a brief description on how the RS1I's sound with classical piano, violin etc? I'm reading different things.

So close to getting these now, as I've just noticed the Grado account on the UK ebay has reduced them by £200! (it's about bloody time we were offered a beter price in the uk)

Cheers.

Oh and I recently got in touch with Grado via email about one of their products I bought having inconsistent printing on the cup, so I had to send them back.

Their reply was laughable.

What's the 'Grado account on UK eBay' ? I couldn't find it?

Also, I don't know what price you saw them at, but Amazon UK currently have them for £500. Presumably clearing old stock before the RS1e arrives ... (still a massive markup in the USA price of course

Yeah I just searched RS1i and it's the first that came up and the supplier is Grado  as oppose to a certain company in bold print. You seem to have the right one; it's roughly £500 and it was £699 the other day, and has been for a while.

What the hecky peck is this RS1E!? What do you know about it? When is it due?! Maybe I should hold out for that?

Grado just announced a complete overhaul of their headphone lineup - the 'e' series!

Little is known about the changes, although it seems they've been selling 'e' models over the last few months but still referring to them by their old names. Anyone who has bought a recent Grado with a red driver, actually has the latest 'e' version.

In fact someone posted pictures of what is presumably an RS1e a page or two ago in this very thread:

http://www.head-fi.org/t/444439/grado-rs1i-appreciation-thread/1080#post_10587238

The biggest changes seem to be that the driver is seated a few mm further forward, and the pads a little shallower. I'd expect this to make the sound warmer & bassier (possibly at the expense of a little soundstage?)

No idea when they will be released to the UK market, but I think they can be bought (or pre-ordered) now in the USA.
