I purchased 2 sets of 2 LM4562NA for my X-Meridian from this seller on Ebay.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...m=330339367933

The OPAMPs arrived and I tested them only to find a lot of static. I tested all 4 separately and retested the original OPAMPs to see it is my card or not (it is not). Can someone who have LM4562NAs on hand tell me what number you have above the LM4562NA marking? The ones I have seen online are ER57RB or similar. Mine is JR83AB. Looking at the feedback of the seller there is at least 1 other buyer that suspected that the OPAMPS were fakes. Thanks.

Email National and check them.

Honestly though, why even bother buying opamps from eBay when you can get them from DigiKey/Mouser/Newark and other legitimate retailers (not to mention usually, from this forum).

I sent them an emaila already. Yeah I know buying this from Ebay and from Hong Kong probably was not the best idea

Didnt even suspect they would be fakes though and it was a bit cheaper plus I can get a feedback out of it. But anyways I will surely buy from someone more reputable now.

you can actually get free samples of the LM4562 from national. just have to pay for shipping unless you give them your work address. mines arrived about a 1 1/2 weeks after i ordered them. didn't test them out yet though.

Perhaps it's my innocent, but I haven't seen any LM4562 selling in HK streets. Very probably, those chips were come from Shenzhen, China.

Yes, you can get samples from National. If I'm not wrong, there're different model numbers for this specific IC: LM4562, LME49720. I can't remember another one. These 3 are all having the same spec.

I have a entire rail of LM4562NA that I bought around the same time as the XM was released. You should not have any type of noise using the LM4562's on the X-Meridian 7.1.
It is possible they are not fakes but there may be something wrong with them.

If they are counterfeits , I would file a fraud complaint and get Interpol on his tail.

eBay/PayPal dispute will require you to ship them back for refund and no, the seller is not responsible for paying shipping back and yes, they can easily claim that you never sent it and you will have no way to prove that you did unless you ship with tracking, which will be considerably more expensive. Live and learn.

My free samples of the lm4562 included one good chip, one chip with tremendous dc offset, and one chip with one good channel and one dead channel.

Anybody who would counterfeit an LRM4562 must be pretty low on the grifter foodchain. It's like the joke about the blonde actress: She slept with the writer. If you're going to go to the trouble of committing wire fraud and patent infringement, why not counterfeit a better chip? I got burned by a counterfeit Opa 627. After that, I wised up and started buying my chips from Digikey, Mouser and manufacturers like AD. That's also when I started getting huge boxes in the mail. Inside the huge box was a large envelope. Inside the envelope was a long rod. Inside the long rod, at the bottom of a tiny elevator shaft, was my component.
