I have just ordered mine a few hours ago, still have to send my ear impressions (tomorrow).

It will be my first CIEM.

May I ask you where you got your impressions done? This seems to the be the largest determinator of whether you will find the CIEM process a pleasure or a chore.

...and congratulations!

for me, I went to an audiologist in my city.... that costs $75 for a 10 min work.

Hey guys. I noticed that most people had their bite block between their front teeth when doing their impressions. I had the bite block on the canine - 1st molar; as suggested by the audiologist. I'm just wondering if this would cause a big difference in fit and comfort.

I'm wish for the perfect fit on the first try, since the nearest audiologist is 450 km away

I was asked by the audiologist that I used to put the bit block toward the back of my mouth, not between my front teeth. When my IEMs arrived they were slightly too big, but whether this was due to the bite block position I do not know. I used a JH-Audio recommended audiologist on Harley St. in London, so they should have been good.

I think fit issues is part of the course with custom IEMs, and you just have to accept it.

If you do have to have your IEMs adjusted, it does not mean you'll have to go back to an Audiologist. The most common form of adjustment seems to be reducing or building up the existing shell shape where necessary to make it fit properly. This is what happened in my case.

My old iPod Touch seems to be giving up on me & I've taken the opportunity to order myself a 64gb 5th gen to replace it. Because of this I'll no longer be able to use my current set up (LOD/Pico Slim) as I'll now need an ios capable DAC to get the best out of it. Out of all the one box solutions is there something that works well with the JH13s?i see a lot of the Options have a 10ohm output impedance. How do these designs fair with or beloved IEMs?

I was looking at the Vamp Verza or the upcoming Soundroid Typhoon. The CNET review said the JH13/Verza combo was excellent but that's the only thing I've seen with the two items matched. TBH I'd prefer the bigger battery of the Typhoon.

Any ideas guys?

I picked up a clip zip and instantly put away my ipod nano 6g + jds c5 amp.  They sounded bad on the jh16's, but the zip was omg awesome.  And it only cost me $35.  I don't know if it'll sound good with the 13's though since I heard it has higher impedance than the 16's.  With my other iems, I definitely needed an amp with the clip zip, just not jh16.

Looks great.. looking forward to some thoughts on how they sound.  Also, if you can give us an estimate on the turnaround time (from when they received your impressions to when you got the delivery shipment notice), it would be appreciated.  You seem to be the most recent (Head-Fi'er) who's received the JH13, so turnaround time info for those of us who ordered recently (i.e. me) would be helpful.

It turns out that I am extremely pleased with 13s' bass presentation, which I worried the most, it is truly robust and deep, very defined sound. Can not be more happy with the decision on 13s over 16s.

I think I will give them more time to open up and give a fair impression.

I went rush, may not be helpful for some of you, but for those who will go the rush route, it took 5 business days for them to ship out your 13s after they receive your ear impressions.
