Ohhh, and you can read their ad copy...

Just because they look alike doesn't mean a thing. Please provide a link to their "ad copy".

Start here and catalog the model differences. For instance your Genius can tell us the difference between a 125 and a 225 to start with. Then go on ad infinitum...

Now you would think everywhere there was a driver difference you would mention it, because it would be a BIG marketing DEAL.

Sho me sumthin'

I've read them all in the past. The only two that share the same driver are the 125 and 225.

Therefore when you say "Grados also share the same drivers thru a lot of their models.", it is a false statement.

Just wanted to clear this up, because lately there's been a lot of hearsay being thrown around as fact that Grado only has a couple of drivers they use between all of their models, which is clearly not the case.

*now back on topic to Denon headphones*

Did you say Hearsay or Heresy?

It is real obvious taking the cans apart, listening to them, reading the ad copy, and figuring out what is going on here. Have you had your Rabies shotz recently?? You sound kinda Rabid to me?

Main Entry: hear·say
Pronunciation: \ˈhir-ˌsā\
Function: noun
Date: circa 1532

1 : rumor
2 : hearsay evidence

Hearsay. I know what I mean when I type it. Thanks.

I could care less if you've taken them apart or if they look similar. That doesn't make they're the same, by definition. The only person rabid here is you trying to prove your assumption is correct because "you've taken 4 Grados apart". I wasn't aware that makes one an expert. Does one need to reach the number 4, or are they an expert if they've only taken apart 2?

It is real obvious when taking the cans apart to figure out what is going on here? Please enlighten all of us. What exactly is "going on"?

1st Demonstrate you have taken ANY apart?

2nd All the other manufacturers have usually only one driver, why do you think Grado has 28 drivers or whatever number you come up with?? Anybody who has dealt with Grado much has not ran into that kinda granularity in anything, including their CMOY called an RA-1!

3rd, prove your point with something other than wishful/wist-ful thinking! READ THEIR AD COPY, you would have to be a MORON not to pick up where the driver breaks are. They explain on their website everything in detail. You cannot refute their ad copy.

I have a lot of Grados, I obviously like them, but I'm not a Grado-Idiot! I threw out a little bait and hooked a bottom feeder....

Carp don't taste that good, think I'll throw him back...

Same fish has been hooked alot, bet his Mouth is pretty scarred...

Your post really speaks for itself, but just to clarify I think 3a sums you up best.

Heh! That's the best you can come up with? Total Cave-In. You've been this goofball Grado Shill for so long and are now a total Cave-in?

Hard to defend against a guy who own's at present like $2000 worth of Grado's ehhh? And took them all apart to see what makes them tick.

Run Forrest Run!

I think the stock D2000s and stock D5000s both suffer from a bloated bass that is insufficiently controlled. The modded D2000s did not have that problem at all. My point was just that I did not think that modding a D2000 or D5000 (controlling the bass through damping) would likely lead to the level of quality offered by the D7000. Definite speculation on my part as I have only heard one particular version of the modded Denons but considering the main differences between the D7000s and the other two is at the driver level, it is not such a bad guess I think.

Ok, thanks a lot for clearing that one up, didn't want to misunderstand you. I agree that a D7K is likely to be a superior product, not just a spendy phone (as it should be, being Denons flagship).
I see the main problem with it being, it's a lot more spendy then the latter model, and they don't offer a whole lot of spec "upgrades" from the D5K model. But as i've seen discussed before, they don't really publish the "subtle" differences on paper. Like you said, it's all about better engineered drivers.

But at this point, i'll be fine cutting the cables and stuffing my D2K's with cotton and silvery matty stuff xD!

Speaking of Subtle; what is that user and les_garten going back and forth on anyway?

D2000 is the Bang for the Buck deal with the most potential.

As far as Subtle: He's an Easy Gr-idiot, easily bated out with any statement about Grados.

I have quite a few Grados and took them all apart, been there done that, own the T-Shirt and all the Canz.

There is nothing for me to defend against or even debate with you. Your post really does speak for itself. It's asinine.

By the way, at one point I had a true vintage RS-1, a GS1000, two HP-1000's, and two PS-1's on hand at the same time. Now I'm down to just one HP2. That was a tad bit higher than $2000 worth of Grados, but what does that mean exactly? Oh that's right, not a damn thing really...other than that I know my Grados and also know when someone is full of crap for claiming that their drivers are the same.

The only goofball here is you with your foaming at the mouth behavior and erratic usage of capitalized words. Keep it up though. It's a good look for you.

Nothing important at all really.

He's just the typical head-fier that should be reading more than he posts and thinks he's a know-it-all after six months.
