Ok, many of you already have your perfect system built, and of course the majority are on a life long journey to continue to tweak and enhance what you have, in hopes of eventually finding the holy grail, or beyond.

If thats you, then we are one and the same. Upgradeidus. Cheers.

Well, I am in the "beginning stages" of building my dream system now. Rather than endless trial and error, I would like to learn from each of you, what YOU feel is the ULTIMATE DREAM SYSTEM in a portable fashion. Whether you currently own it, or are striving to complete what you have, I am most curious to see the various opinions/recommendations. I am talking source, amp, IEMs, cables, mods, etc. Please include pics if you have them!

Currawong, truly you are the Freaking King of Portable Audio bliss. LOL! Those pictures say it all! I bow down to you. You have earned it... literally. You have spent many thousands of dollars no doubt to achieve your goal for perfection, and you have "arrived" I am certain. I love it.

Here's my question for you. I will be selling my 6th generation 120gig ipod, and have an 80gig, 5.5 gen on the way. What is the next step for me, going for the imod, the amp or the IEMs? What order or sequence would you suggest I build my dream sytem? THANKS!

I personally don't think it is worth it to try and get the dream portable system.

But, I think the better thing to look for is the best speaker system.

But, of course, that would be an endless search...

^ I owned it. Liked the sound, but had real trouble with fit. If you cant get things just perfectly aligned in your ears, it doesn't sound so great, and if you get it just right finally, it's not very comfy, and then you better not move, turn your head from side to side, sneeze, breathe, etc. Others might have had the same experience. However, for those few seconds/minutes that it's right.....

That link wasn't my rig. Just the kind of rig I'd like to own. I use an iPod Classic with UE10's. An aftermarket cable for the UE10's is about as far as I'll probably go.
