I don't care if someone else likes a different IEM.

As long as they acknowledge that the SE530s are better and more lifelike and probably the best thing you can buy in audio... followed by the Zune.

If/when I use IEM's - I like both my Klipsch x10, and UE Triple Fi 10's. I'm NOT a fan of Shures because of their "traditional" roll-off in the treble.....much the same reason I sold my Alessandro Ms Pros and kept Grado RS-1/flats. The Klipsch x10 come off a bit too bright overall with some daps, so I pair those combos with a somewhat tubey amp (eg. Xin Supermini) to ameliorate that trait.
OTOH - some folks find they have a problem with the fit of Triple Fi's (despite loving the SQ). The answer, for me, was to wear them with the cables running downwards instead of over the ears.....and best tips for me were the light grey tips from UE (free, when you ask for a set). They seem to be the same as the blacks shipped with them - but they felt better to me. I paid $270 new. BTW - Pico works very nicely with the Triple Fi.

Having owned both, I've just got to say that the Triple.Fi has better highs, but at the same time, are more fatuiging for extended listening. The SE530 is a much better option for extended listening, is more comfortable, and more natural sounding.

They are natural, you will never hear highs that pronounced in a concert or other live event. In a concert you hardly hear the cymbals crashing in the background because the vocals and drums are more present and that is what the SE530's excel in. Shure aimed for the SE530s to replicate a concert not studio monitoring or precise listening. That is why I am going to buy the Westone ES3X so I use those for my precise listening and my SE530s for a lively feeling incase the ES3X's don't have better MIDS than the SE530s which I think it is better.....we will see

Generally cymbals sound harsh real life and if it doesn't display the natural harshness imo, it doens't count as "Natural"

Although I sold them because I can't keep them in my ears for more than a few minutes (and I've tried everything, including the Comply tips), I still love Triple.fi more than any other non-custom IEM I've heared. The posts above list the reasons: the highs are among the best I've ever heared in a headphone, irrespective of the price. Crystal clear, with an incredible amount of detail, and yet sweet, never harsh or sibilant. The frequency response is linear, with excelent treble and a lean bass. Actually the bass response depends a lot on the position of the tips in the ear and the tips themselves. The Comply tips for instance roll off the high frequency but add plenty of bass. If you insert them deep in the ear, the bass response is even better.
I wouldn't comment too much about the soundstage. It's not the best in class (Westone UM2 and 3 are better in this aspect), it's not even close to a full size headphone, but it is not the worst and it's certainly better than most cheaper IEMs.
What I have to warn you about is that Triple.fi are no cheap headphones and as a consequence they will sound exactly as good as the source and the amplification you use. Although their impedance is low, they are not as efficient as the Westones so they benefit a lot from a good amplifier. And forget about the cheap, portable ones. They are simply too good for that. Use an expensive DAC as a source and a full size home desktop amplifier and you will be amazed at how good they can sound and how close they are to the big (and expensive) full size family of open headphones. There is no limitation in the Triple, the only thing that limits your experience is the quality of your rig.

Yea they sound harsh in real life in front of you but in a concert....ummm no. They are hardly even heard.

I find the Triple.fi excells in the lows and the highs in the same way that the 530 is superior in its creamy mids. Overall I prefer the triples sound stage and separation. The 530 is somehow less demanding in its presentation.
I have never listened to the Super.fi, but can't imagine you would be disappointed with the triples. I paid $315 for mine and would do so again.
Sandy.
