Many of you have probably seen me nosing around asking all sorts of weird questions about a wide variety of IEM’s already, so I thought I’d ask straight out for your words of wisdom.

Currently I am using Shure SE110's with my Cowon D2 amped by a Fiio E5, the amp meant a world of difference I tell thee.

What I like about the SE110's is the good ambient isolation and quite good mids/highs, EQ’d and amped the bass is quite nice too.
What I'm looking for is a larger/wider soundstage/headstage/stereo imaging, more punch and deeper but controlled bass, more clarity in mids/highs and good isolation.
I will be using them with the D2, both amped and unamped.

So far I’m thinking about the Phonak’s, Sennheiser cx6, UE SuperFi 5 v2, but the Klipsch Custom 2 are very tempting at £66 too. The Senn IE series are probably out due to not so good isolation, Westone 3 and Shure SE530 are a bit pricey.

In short, I need help and guidance

Well If you like Shure's sound signature and want to improve on it the Shure SE530's are my only recommendation. Also check the link in my signature to improve the sound quality of the Shure SE530 by simply changing the tips because the black olives pre-installed completely muddy the sound and clarity.
You can find the Shure SE530's on Amazon for about $280 shipped. Also When the Shure SE530's has been modified the differences between the sound quality of the SE530s and the Westone 3 are very subtle. The SE530s has better BASS and MIDS while the Westone 3 has better HIGHS and soundstage...

The budget, tough one, but definitely not SE530 territory, unfortunately. More realistically around £100 or less, even if Phonak is on the list.

^x2 on the custom 2's. Unfortunately, if you're wanting a deeper bass impact, the Phonak's likely wont be for you. They sound brilliant, but bass isn't their strong point.

That is a really good thing about them, I love the Shure medium olives. Is the isolation as good as on the 110's with them then?

I see you have the 2's as well, what is the soundstage/headstage like on them, and is there more bass than on the 110's?

Check the FS/FT forums also! Theres often good deals to be had there and you may even get a second hand set of higher end phones for within your budget.

isolation is basically the same, maybe a bit better as i can shove the customs much further in. as to direct sound comparisons with the 110 ive not heard the 110 in ages (only use them really when im pished or on the way out drinking) 2's are really better in every way, particularly in terms of clarity. vastly clearer and cleaner sounding, everything is so much more controled. sound stage isnt vastly different i feel but a bit larger on the 2's, nothing dramatic though.

if you liked the 110 im absolutely sure you will really enjoy the custom 2's and for that price i cannot think of anything that comes close

Please throw those medium olives away and purchase the "Universal Yellow Foamies" and be amazed at how the sound has improved...

I don't really like foamies, too cumbersome to insert, but I may give it a try at some point.
