Travis Barker (Blink-182) survives plane crash in S.C.

Sad. Early speculation placed Barker's ex-wife/wife Shannon Moakler and musicians Gavin DeGraw and Perry Farrell on the plane. It now looks like DeGraw and Farrell weren't on the plane though.

This was on TMZ:

"Barker had performed Friday night with Perry Farrell, Gavin DeGraw and DJ AM. It has not been confirmed if Farrell and DeGraw were also traveling on the same jet."

TMZ has some pics of the plane crash site. They just confirmed that Perry Farrell was not on the plane. No word on DeGraw though.

DeGraw wasn't on there according to Perez. My wife is on that site and he has been quick with the info compared to national news and TMZ, etc.

The two pilots and Chris Baker (Travis' assistant?) are three confirmed killed.

Federal officials say two crew members and two passengers have been killed. Lexington County Coroner Harry Harman has identified three of the victims. Harman says the pilot Sarah Lemmon, 31, co-pilot James Bland, 52, and Chris Baker, 29 all perished in the crash.

All four victims have been identified. What a strange crash.

My daughter comments:

"it's gods joke on humanity.....a plane crash kills so many talented musicians in the prime of their careers, they write sad songs about their untimely deaths b (a.k.a american pie) such horrible tragedies, but a talentless lowlife like Travis barker get's into a plane, crashes, and survives!!!!!! it's not fair!!!!"

That's sweet. I guess talent = worthiness of life?

I originally posted this because the rumors had Perry Ferrel on the plane. Musically, that would have been a big loss... to me. I grew up on Jane's Addiction.

Realistically, Barker ain't in my top ten. Still, he and his podna are in critical condition and 4 others are dead, which is still quite sad.

Just a little black humor me thinks. Everyone processes tragedy differently.

Oh come on, no matter who dies in a plane crash, it's a tragedy no matter how talented or intelligent they are. Moreover, I wouldn't say that travis barker is completely talentless. He is a pretty good drummer and some of his beats are really hard to imitate. I'd say his much better than your average "punk rock" drummer.

Jeez that is sad, hope everyone in critical condition pulls through.

Travis Barker is actually one hell of a drummer, the music he tends to be associated with prevents alot of people from hearing his real talent

Wow. Isn't she the caring, compassionate type

.

Obviously she's never listened to anything by Blink 182, Transplants or +44. I'd hardly call one of the best punk rock drummers a 'talentless lowlife'.
