yuh-huh.

here are my options as i see it:

1 phone apple and argue with them, it cant possibly be out of warranty, the touchwheel ones haven;t even been out for a year yet!!

2 try this friend of my dad's

3 try a local electronics shop, she what they can do

4 try and get an exchange at john lewis, saying it was a gift. so no receipt. also john lewis are known to be very good with replacements, kinda no questions asked

heh, not to get too off topic, but i've had lightning bolts shoot down the alley next to me, shorting out my modem once and the second time blowing out the speakers on my tv...now, that's bad luck (plus, having to change the tube on that said tv 3 times before giving up after the newly put in tube would burn out every six months).

UPDATE

just got off the phone with apple customer services, managed to do some blagging (ipod was gift from elderly relative who is no longer with us...*ahem* i am going striaght to hell for that one)

turns out that it is still in warranty (bought 10/01/03), apple sending out box for me to stick it in for repairs.

huzzah!

If it wasn't for warrenty I would be living in an alley by now.
I've had more elctronics break on my within the year then stay alive:

2 cellphones
and the battery of the third one
1 TV
3 VCR's
2 old walkmen
ChomeX PCDP
IFP mp3 player
CD player
the remote of that CD player
And there was more.

I have it with other stuff aswell. I once spoke the a guy who had the same luck, he said he got it from his uncle. Apparently there's a name for it. I forgot.

it's called sod's law (or murphy's law): anything that can go wrong will go wrong.

i guess if it wasn't for bad luck, i wouldn't have no luck at all.

anyhew, must dash, gotta revise for exams.

No, it was something else, not murphy's law.
And old Dutch word I can't remember: xxx aan je reet hangen

Translated: xxx hanging on you ass

(xxx=the word I can't remeber)
