Okay, folks. I'm getting awful close to 1500 posts, and some of you may have noticed that anyone who reaches 1500 posts goes from a rather plain "1000+ Member" to "Headphoneus Supremus".

Admittedly, I was sorta hoping someone else would reach 1500 posts first, so that I wouldn't be alone with the silly title (although coolvij looks like he'll be here in a few days too).

Here's the deal -- I'm going to feel sorta, well, silly with such a conceited title. Though community veterans know each other, new folks might come in and think I'm a self-important blowhard (oh, be quiet, Neruda! I see smart-aleck comments a mile away with you! ). It would certainly not feel silly if there were more Headphoneus Supremuses floating around. My question is: What do y'all think of the Headphoneus Supremus title? Should we just make it 1500+ Member and keep going at 500 post increments (2000+ Member, 2500+ Member, etc.)? Or should we change this Headphoneus Supremus title to something else? Or do you cats like that title?

I was in single-digit post count when I thought up that title, and it was just for fun. Now, when I'm nearly at 1500 posts, I'm like, doh! -- what have I done?!

I say find that list of suggested titles I (and also eric343) posted in the archives a while back. Some pretty good suggestions, and I've been itching for some title changes anyways.

We're all get there someday though I hope this wouldn't spark a race off where people post crap in hopes of reaching the 'coveted' title faster. Remember the whole headphone council incident?

Personally, anything is fine. It's the music & what the person that is talking about that counts.

I think that the title of Headphoneus Supremus is fun. Besides, there are many people here with over 1000 posts, so I am sure you won't be the only one for too long.

How about a specific one for you, Jude:

Seriously, I don't think anyone will think it's haughty to give the Supremus title, since anyone who hangs out here long enough will figure out that if you join that august circle, it will mean you're just as whack-o.

Seriously -- I think the explanation is good, but I don't think you need "that means", I think simply "Headphoner Supremus (1500+ posts)" is sufficient.

(Note: I changed it from "Headphoneus Supremeus" because that sounds like you are a pair of headphones to me -- probably from watching too much Wile E. Coyote.)

Sorry Jude, but you can't be Headphoner Supremus because your top of the line phones are the Senn HD-600. By default you have demoted yourself. I think the title should belong to Vert only.
