****,
my hd650's came in and they sound incredible right out of the box plugged into my Corda Aria,
Not as much of a fatiguing sound as my DT880's either, also the DT880's are a little bass shy compared to these.. which are abslolutely beautiful .. i can really sense the potential of them and I can't wait until these burn in
also my DV 332 will be here next week.. I'll use this thread to report back in as things burn in..

I can't contain my desire to communicate the wonders of these..
And somehow, I'm left wordless.
damn

I don't rate sennheiser at all In fact Can they even be considered players in the headphone world today ? everything below the 650's is beaten by a £60 pair of goldring dr150.

If you are going to use them with a tube amplifier like the DV I would recommend you to experiment replacing the cable with a RAL or Silver Dragon, Apuresound or Equinox. You will be amazed.

...or not. Can't say I was blown away after changing to Equinox, which by many is regarded as the better cable for the senns.

Upgrade from stock, yes. Amazed? No.

I'm going to have to give my 650's one more shot based on their reputation here. Every time listen to them I end up going back to my k701's and being much happier. The bass is much better in the 650's and I wish the k701 was better in this regard, but for everything else I prefer the k701s... particularly the larger sounds stage.

I will try again with an open mind and see what happens.

I strongly disagree. The 580/600/650 line is excellent. The problem is that people try to run them from portable amps and an iPod. Trouble is, you need to invest in or build a substantial amp to hear them at their full potential.

To the OP - congrats! I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy mine!
