I believe an older version of SR325's exists that is nearly identical to the 225 on the exterior at least. The current version is significantly different though.

i prefer the look of the aluminium chamber rather than the black model.

I had an old black 325 in the past (with flat pads),now I have a newer silver one. Except the color they are identical: same size, weight, same leather headband and same sound (from memory…)Actually the black(anodized aluminum) 325 look and feel very solid nothing like the smaller plastic 225.The size of all 325 chambers,older or newer, is the same.
Also 325 has OFC cable-225 and lower is standard copper
