Who's the seller? Does anyone have a link? The highest I've seen is a 900mah battery on eBay.

Alright, so I have a 2nd gen Mini here. As soon as I put the CF card in it gives me the support screen, but when I plug it in it shows like it's charging (even though battery is fully charged) and never gets past that point. When I put the drive back in it works just as it should.
any ideas?

Did you try flashing to latest version before putting in the CF card?

Just plug it into the computer and it will say its is broken or such and ask if youd like to resore and press yes. (atleast mine asked that ^^)
If it doesnt ask start the updater and restore the ipod mini to factory settings

I have a problem configuring my own ipod firmware for rockbox

have a son that takes to much time from the screen to be able to learn the Linux i just downloaded and such ^^

I think someone earlier in the thread had a firmware that worked with the CF cards, so if anyone has it pls tell me

computer doesn't seem to recognize it... or if it does it loads drivers for a 16gb cf card, but it never shows up anywhere to try to update. itunes doesn't recognize it as an iPod.

I think I'm going to put the card in my printer and try to format it.

ok, my computer recognized it as a broken IPOD. maybe it dependas on if the card is preformatted or something, just guessing now... But try to format it in FAT32 and reconnect it in the IPOD.

I just tested the battery time in mine after mod with the battery the IPOD had when i got it (bought it used). It is an amazing 18h so i will not change the battery this time

. The battery time before the mod was 5h. And both times i played flac files with decent volume and a pair of headphones plugged in. So this was in Rockbox mode

Hope it will work out for you soloz2

The Nano's have the memory chip built into the board. You can buy an 8GB (IIRC) Nano board and just swap it out...but I have to find the link again...

alright, I got it to work and installed rockbox, but the mini won't shut down now...

Will it play? If it won't shut down, my first instinct is the clickwheel is broken. Does the Play button work?

oh, yeah no the click wheel works. I actually tried to shut it down and it says it's going to, but it boots right back up to rockbox

Thanks Nate, funny thing is that it just died. Luckily I had purchased it at Best-Buy w/ an extended warranty which expires on 6/30/08.

So I was able to call it in, get a return authorization number, and shipped it out yesterday 6/27/08. I hope I can get a voucher for what I paid!
