Yeah! The Melos SHA-1 arrived, and it's pretty amazing. Much simpler inside than I thought it would be. So far I have only listened to "Doolittle", by The Pixies. Details are coming out that I have not heard before...

Well, now that I have a Melos SHA-1 myself, I've forgiven you for getting that one

I agree. It totally rocks. I also never thought I'd find another Pixies fan- great choice to test it with! I'd write a review but all my stizuffs are* still breaking in.

*I apologize for the temporary lack of grammar.

Congratulations to you as well then Jon. I only wish mine was silver, it would match my Arcam gear better. What tubes are you guys using? The ones that came with it are Golden Dragon 6DJ8.

I've mainly been interested in Kim Deal since The Pixies split, don't really know what Black Francis is up to.

Well, the silver doesn't look any better, IMO, though the rig matching does make sense. Don't tell me you're a bloodhoundgang fan also? hehehehe. you're my evil twin.

What's sick is I'm already thinking about tube rolling

Its just curious to realize that there are lots of headphone amps besides Corda that offer multiple impedance outputs thats all.

I happen to like silver better, but I guess I'm biased because mine is silver

Anyway, this is an awesome amp... Consider yourself lucky to have one

As far as tubes go, I have two pairs of matched Sovteks, I believe from upscale audio. I'm kinda gettin' the urge to tube roll soon... so maybe I'll get something different in the near future.

Don't get me wrong, that amp looks gorgeous, and I'm sure it sounds better than it looks, but why is the case so much larger than the "guts"? I can't imagine this is just for aesthetic purposes...something to do with isolation?

It's called rack mount.

Fits in all std. studio racks. I'm pretty sure all of Melos preamps were rack mount.

Also if anyone is wondering what SHA means, it is short for Studio Headphone Amp.

Oooooo...you have a Melos and a Max. What do you think of the two? I defintely know where I stand, and people agreed at the Dallas headphone meet, but I'm curious what you think since you own both
