hi, everyone, i am new at headfi. i bought a sharp DS8 last week. i figured out the original earphone sucks! i want to buy a headphone for my DS8 and my buget is about $200. mostly, i will use it out door without a amp, so i don't want a high impedence headphone. DS8 headphone output is 5mw+5mw(32 omega). any suggestions? mdr-f1? cd2000? or whatelse?

Cheap: Koss 60ohm line
Middle: Sony D66 Eggo
Best: Ety ER4

Yeah I totally agree with jpelg.
You have a bigger choice in the cheap segment, senn PX series, koss, etc. In the +$100 category there is no much choice at all (shure or eggo D77 maybe) and considering your budget is $200 nothing beats the Ety for around $250. This is of course considering portability as an imporant factor.

Well, I'd recommend skipping those two Sonys for outdoor portable use, especially in noisy areas. You see, the MDR-F1 is very open-air, and it's not particularly efficient, so you'll still have to crank up the volume all the way to maximum just to hear much music over all that noise. And the MDR-CD2000 is much too bulky for easy portability - and though it's more than efficient enough for use on portables, it really needs a dedicated headphone amp in order to even sound decent (the sound coming from the unamped portable/MDR-CD2000 combo is flat and lifeless, in my brief experience).
