lol, I loved seeing him in this film...the guy is a true showman! I have always been interested in "fish out of water" stories, so I got a kick out of this one. I thought J.Depp was great, as was Chloe Grace Moretz. Critics didn't seem to care for this film, but I thought it was fun.
I had to watch it a couple times to really get into it. I actually saw it when it came out on DVD for the first time and no one knew a thing about it. There was no reviews on line or anything. It made it a little of a mystery, which I liked.
Some folks I would guess would feel like the director was rude in his cinematic style. Some folks just get sea-sick from the handheld work in the flick.
It took me the longest time to get used to the style, then I loved it.

When this came out I saw this with my friends about 5 times in the theater. I think I was 10 and movie tickets only cost $1.50.
I think i've seen this one at least a hundred times by now and it's still entertaining (and funny).
Every character in it is perfect to me. BTW I wonder why Culkin's acting was so good in this movie but it was so awful in part 2? In part 2 it's as if he was reading a script.
I actually watched this tonight and then immediately watched the commentary all the way through! For the commentary I was kind of working.
Did you know they had an adult stunt double for Kevin when he fell off the shelves in the bedroom? Same size they said. Old Man Marley's stunt double (shown in the movie) was still in high school and played a 75 year old!
All the scenes of Paris are stock footage due to the low budget of only 18 million.
I still remember how this stayed at theaters for nearly an eternity..
Regretfully, this one was a disappointment. I loved the music, and about half the film was great, but it got watered down by a bunch of sappy crap. It could have truly been great if they would have stuck with the rock stuff and avoided the teenie bopper romance. If I never have to hear Alec Baldwin try to sing again, I'll be fine with that. Tom Cruise was much better than I expected. But even though Julianna Hough is a cutie, I really got tired of hearing her sing like every song. Once Mary J. Blige hit the screen (in a relatively small part) you got to hear what real female vocals sound like. Anyway, loved taking a trip back through some of the best 80s music and I'm glad I saw it....but overall it missed the mark.
It´s good too but not quite as good as Irreversible. Only reason I can see people not enjoying it is being to much. But it´s beatifully filmed and feel quite original. I didn´t feel one scene was out of place or anything.
Speaking about the Void must recommend Touching the Void as well. Serious woah movie for me.
i dont like this type of movies in general,Where there are alot of nude scenes and rough sex.it disgusts me.
the first 20 minutes of the movie where they track down the guy was just annoying to me.i kept scipping every scene from annoyance of the camera man.the rape scene was waay over the top.10 minutes is just ridiculous. it was vulgar and unnecessarly over the top imo. i was watching the movie with a girlfriend and one of my buddies and no one was fond of what they saw.
yes its basically the most important scene of the movie, but i thought it was overdone for the average viewer especially in a very delicate subject like this where most of us,atleast me can get emotionally affected especially since i have sisters...
i wasnt impressed with the 10-15 minutes the lovers spent naked as well.again overdone imo.
The end was ridiculous and i thought the producer forced his opinion when he wrote"Time Ruins everything".
Overall, unnecessary movie to watch just like that serbian crap.i dont think i will ever watch films of that nature again.
OTOH:
The Expandables 2: 5/10. It was Ok despite the amazingly terrible act of Van Dam.
Dark Shadows: 9/10 .I never thought i would enjoy that movie, but it was one of the best ive seen this year.
Mostly Van Damme's stuff is borderline unwatchable for me but this one,6 Bullets, makes the leap to good or surprisingly good.
You know what your getting going in,so on that basis it is a worthwhile action/thriller,with some degree of depth.
Decent effort and worth a look if you like this genre.
