Look at this CNN article, and this Health Canada article.

There is no conclusive proof that ear candles actually do what they claim to do, and there are instances where people have been injured by these devices. It smacks of quackery.......I strongly suggest that any head-fi'er concerned about their ears and hearing should see a doctor for a full exam before using any sort of home remedies.

I prefer to use compressed air myself... I shove the end of the airpipe up my left nostril, plug the other nostril with a cork and then blast some compressed air in which blows the wax out of my ears a treat.

Sound quality is greatly improved and I charge £100 to perform this "upgrade"
