i like the ksc-75 over the px100 in terms of sq.. but the problem is that i compare my amped (xin super micro4) ksc75 to an unamped px100.. haha!! by the way, i have both old and new version of px100.. but in terms of comfort.. i really do hate the clip on design..

ohh... i think I understand you very well:

i own PX100 too, and i used them everywhere for everything, just love them, and i will too for a long time...

i upgraded to MS-1 and i think it was the best thing i did, they really sound amazing and in fact you perceive a great upgrading difference from PX100

although MS1 are not that portable (mainly compared to PX100) i love their sound so much that i use them as portable! (and i do travel a lot! - train, sub, ... ...) the only problem is that they are... ... open!

so, after digging some more, just ordered my real portable closed upgrade into AT - ES7!

x2 on iGrado.
Less portable but better quality sound than PX100.
I also like that they are behind the neck rather than on top of the noggin.

I am surprised that the iGrados do not get more publicity around here.

You should try defoaming the px100s before moving on. They have a really great midrange and bass that I prefer over the Koss ksc75s, and defoaming them make the bass even tighter and faster, and the top end more sparkly.

The OP doesn't have a PX100 yet ... but I do! What is this "defoaming" that you speak of? A quarter mod? I just ordered a new pair of pads, and plan on trying the mod on the older ones to see what it's like.

i think that mod is where you put 414 pads on the px100.. defoaming the old px100 really does wonders for it too bad that i just cant get my hands on the 414 pads.. are there any alternatives to the 414 pads.??

There are usually 1 or 2 auctions for 414 pads on ebay, like this one. But yes, I've heard that this mod is intended for the older px100, and might make the new one too bright for some people.

Someone's brought up the KSC75's already - I'm on that bandwagon too. They're amazing.
