Pizza Favorites?

It has to be Chicago style, and ingredients must be traditional Chicago style. Pizza is wrong other than Italian sausage, peppers, onions, and mushrooms. Thick layer of quality cheese is required.

Something much better than Philly Cheese is called Italian Beef sandwiches. Cheap cheese on beef is immoral.

Other than frozen pizzas, Cici's is probably the worse tasting pizza I've had. I also hate chains like Domino's, Pizza Hut, Papa John's. When you taste a good pizza, you know quality ingredients went into it.

I really like fast foods created by Italians in the US. Of course big chains butchered the quality. Pizza Hut originated in TX? Need I say more? Individually owned Pizza joints that follow traditional Italian immigrant methods and ingredients will make good tasting pizzas. The best tasting stuff is cooked in traditional Italian immigrant methods.

I'll eat BBQ originated in TX, not pizza.

I think the standard ingredients that goes into a combination/supreme pizza are hard to go wrong by - pepperoni, sausage, mushrooms, peppers, olives and onions. They all come together super well. Jalapenos are also an excellent addition to add just a bit of spice too!

^ I think in some ways I have to agree with your sentiment. I find that the best pizza in America is in New York or at least in the 30 mile radius. I’ve tried New York style pizza in other parts of the USA and it was not as good. So you really have to be in the area.

That said, I’m sure I could be proven wrong. We are now in the 21st century and things can be unpredictable in the food world as it’s constantly evolving.

I have eaten a gyro pizza, which is not Italian-authentic but Mediterranean-authentic with the Greek ingredients...I guess. It was a long time ago, but I think this was the place:

Thin crust Proscuitto Funghi for me. Perhaps with a few anchovies sprinkled on top

I just had a pizza lunch at a place that specializes in Neapolitan pizza which is the Naples style thin.

Excellent pizza and it was topped with pancetta which is Italian bacon.

With this type of pizza I eat it with a knife and fork.

That looks legit! The bacons looks so welcoming. This what you call comfort food.
