I think the company that markets Hearo products actually buys the phones from Etymotic Research itself - and sticks the Hearo name instead of the Etymotic name on them (without Don Wilson's knowledge)!

Or maybe - just maybe - Hearo is a subsidiary of Etymotic itself?

On the ER-4 Distributor page on the Etymotic website, it lists that the ER-6 and ER-4 are also sold under the StudioPhonic HEAROS Gold (ER-6) and Platinum (ER-4) names. So Etymotic is definitely aware of this.

Oh, I feel more confident now.

The Hearos either include different accessories, or include a different quantity of accessories (e.g. the Hearos may come with fewer replacement filters or tips than the Etys).

wow.. must be hard to stamp the "Hearo" name on the Ety box and jack up the price another $50. I'm surprised "Sharper Image" didn't get to it first
