I was just in the headphones thread remarking on the long history of my 888s, and I remember how it was a big deal way back when, when modding 888s was the rage. It seems like the history of this headphone community can be charted by episodes like these.

Remember when...

-The first guy here "sneakily" went off and bought a pair of R10s? (who was that again?? )

-The Clou cables came out and were all the rage?

-The AKG K1000's came out and were all the rage?

-Grado modding was a hobby in itself (anyone still using rolled up tube socks for pads? )

-The Sony D-777 suddenly became a "Hall-of-Fame" pcdp? The D-555? D-25s?

-It seemed like everyone was buying a pair of Etys?

-The V6 was "rediscovered"?

-The MG Head came out?

-Jan Meier's Corda became really hot?

-The first guy here found and ordered a pair of W2002s and started the AT craze?

-The first guy "rediscovered" the Melos SHA-1?

Any other really big trends or discoveries you can remember?

...How about the time when everyone jumped in for a headmaster that created a 3 months waiting list?
