Hi Grey,

By putting the covers on you kind of slightly lower the bass reverberation problem i mentioned in my Darth thread. But it seems to stifle the rest of the frequencies. I doubt id use them that much to be honest.

You can get an idea of what its like by covering the screen with your palms, and leaving a slight opening for some air though, its a bit similar.

What do you prefer about that pair of x-deep done in Korina that Larry sold this week - the wood, or the new shape for an x-deep)? (sort of a mini-Poll)
I was thinking he could do a slight anglcut of the face that would result in a "faux R10" appearance.

You seem to have leather pads on them? Did they come with? How do they change the sound signature on Darths?

Here are mine that I bought nearly new (but used):

yeah i ordered these and while waiting found a set of used closed cocobolos that i snatched up. there is a noticeable difference in the coloring of the woods but i guess that shouldn't suprise me. i'll put both in updated pics. yeah the leather pads i also just got this week from a fellow head-fier, i still haven't listened to the open pair other than one song just to see how they sounded brand new. but with the closed pair there is a slight difference in sound with the leather, nothing too major but it seems to me that the bass may be a little punchier. and i also seem to notice slightly more isolation, but like i said, it's nothing too major at all. but i will say that the leather makes them look much much better.
