J/K...
that poor HD650 is just screaming "Balence me!"... i retort, "I'd have to drop out of school to be able to pay" and the headphone goes, "so what, at least you'd be a happy bum" and i say, "yes, but bums can't pay for the electricity you demand" and the HD650 goes, "you can raise money by letting people here your rig" and i say "your nuts" and it says "your the crazy one" and then we decide not to talk to each other anymore.... and i step over to the HF1 and put it on.... that'll make the HD650 jealous.

You think you have issues? I actually listened to my HD650s... I'm now going to be eating nothing but water for the rest of the year.

Sure! How many guys does it take to heave a grand piano of 11 flights of stairs?

Oh wait, that how you loose a Max Balanced.

Sorry, mate, that was cruel.

Seriously, Sloth, thanks for all your hard work listening to our modules. You give being a fanboy a good name. It's important for us to have outside opinions on our gear and you've done a great job evaluating our work, and I think your discriptions of the experiences you've had with our modules is spot on. One of these days (crosses fingers) if we ever do a Balanced Desktop, we'll be sure to put you in the loop nice and early.

Ooh ooh! I know that one! 10, in rotation, with 6 at a time actually pushing the piano and 4 resting. How long does it take? Believe it or not, about 10 minutes.

Btw. I can't believe you outed me as an official 'fanboy' at the national meet!

. Well, at least I have official status!

Wow... was... a bithead just given away due to someone's obscure knowledge of a comic? That's... insane... and so very cool.

Back to the topic at hand... nuts, I actually have to think of something constructive don't I?

Since you revamped your modules, are you folks at Headroom eventually thinking of revamping the DACs anytime soon? Also, when you started the whole comic thing (I believe it was about pooping in one's headphones), you said that you were dialing down the bias to get bettery battery life. Are you all going to make a custom option from Headroom directly to have it dialed up (I have no idea what bias is, but I'm just taking what you said and trying to... assume things) for people who are mainly using the amp at home?

Finally, and this is again off topic but... how do you all feel finishing up the last revision of the airhead/bithead and the modules for your current amps and moving on the a whole new design? Just curious.

EDIT: And before I forget... any plans to make the DPS more... universal of a power conditioner? So that you can use it for the rest of your setup? Or would it just be best to buy one yourself?

You do have that option, albeit in a slightly more obscure way. The bias increases as you go up the module line, with the Micro having the least and the Max having the most. In the micro amp, you have the choice of better sound with nicer opamps and more bias in the Desktop Module, or the more power conservative Micro Module. The Home Module is far into class A (i.e. more 'bias'), and the Max Module is even further.

I'm not sure what you are getting at there, but the DPS isn't a 'power conditioner'. It is simply a highly regulated +/-15V power supply with 6 DIN outlets that are pin compatible with the Supreme/Cosmic/Micro/Desktop lines. It produces cleaner DC than the 'brick' through the use of much better components, and a more complex regulation design, not through some kind of 'power conditioning'.

I must also say the TheSloth has gone amazingly quickly from 500 to 1200 posts. How do you find the time?

Yep, that's right. Home amps have 2 PSU's, and the Max Balanced has 4.

Regarding the post count, working from home has its advantages! And don't forget that post count doesn't include the rather large number of 'what module do I want?' PM's replied to...

Sloth, you are the man

. How did you get to know so much about Headroom's stuff?

EDIT: Oh... so the DPS isn't a power conditioner... *Feels like an idiot now*. Granted now that makes a lot more sense...

Because he's a concert pianist and understands subtlety, and bought a boat load of our gear, and expressed an interest in knowing more about our modules, and is a super nice guy and I liked him, so I decided to hook him up and make sure he had a great time by having a special place in our work, and in this hobby. Or...fate just smiled on him. Take your pick.
