Looks like you need some basic understanding on how electricity works.

From PS Audio.

Well, that doesn't mean that you need to spend $500.00 on a power cable neither, or that a manufactuer needs to rip people off charging similar amounts for a shielded power cable, with good connectors, and some good dielectrics...just get a shielded Quail 14AWG, with ferrite cores ($15.00 a piece) and you will get all that...and invest the rest in other parts of the system that will make a more noticeable difference...

What other parts should I invest in then? Cables made a bigger improvement than upgrading from EMU0404 to Cary 303/300.

More shielding gives less transparent sound (less speed), but that doesn't make a difference when connecting to a Power Plant because it's like an inefficient battery. That's why shielding is the most important thing between the wall and Power Plant.

They are shielded but not with as many layers as PS Audio cables are.

By using very precise manufacturing techniques, whereby the seven mono-filament silver plated power conductors are wound in a special configuration, the impedance, capacitance, and other electrical specifications are maintained to very tight tolerances. Another benefit of this design is to eliminate external EMI/RF interference.

Uh huh.

If I read the PS Audio article right, they're saying that the reason why you need shielded cables next to your audio gear (as opposed to along the miles of cables to your house), is because the gear itself radiates EMI/RFI, and the closer the power cables are to the gear, the the higher need for shielding.

Using the PS Audio reasoning, you definitely need shielding from your Power Plant to your gear. If you accept their reasoning, the Valhallas may be harming your sound quality.
