T-amp has arrived! - Page 2

Well, I encountered a problem with my t-amp. Sometimes the music kind of dies away on one channel, then comes back. This is only on one channel and seems to go away after a longer period of use, so now its on 24-7. I also have some newfound respect for my hd-600, the atoms cannot give back the intimacy of it.

*****. Seems like the t-amp is useless, it is now cutting off on one channel 50% of the time. I'm gonna have to take it to a friend with l33t skills, to open it up.

How did it go? Was your 1337 friend able to help?

Nah, didnt bug him with it yet. The problem seems to go away after about 20 min's of playing music, but till then it's like a flanger or whatever, the right channel keeps fading/coming back. GRRRR

It sounds like your T-amp is defective. You should replace it.

Well, I dont fully understand what happened, but it seems to work now. I rearranged my room a bit, and now it works fine (knocks on wood).

If it ever happens again, definitely open it up and take a look (take pictures and post 'em here even). That's really bizarre.

It seems to be something inside my preamp (however, I do remember it happening off the archos too, but I only tried that for a real small time). If I have my headphones inserted into one of the headphone outs of the Mpx, I get no sound from the pre-outs. If I remove my headphones from this plug, I get the problem as described. If I use the other out and the t-amp is on, I get sound from both the headphone and the t-amp, and if I remove the phones from this out, everything stays normal. I dont really understand it. I can even fix the issue when it arises by plugging my phones into the "normal" plug and then unplugging it. ???

?

if this referred to my advice on the t-amp, the problem turned out to be elsewhere (probably).
