Pros: SQ...SQ...SQ
Cons: Bugs everywhere,up, down...

So after some long waiting I finally received my Ibasso DX100.
Its the first DAP from Ibasso, and I think it has done  a very good one.
I will not review the SQ of the DX100, not until I get it burned for some  time, for now I will talk about the UI .
Its an android gingerbread in its simplest form. The Screen is, well lets say its adequate, but not build for video, reading your emails or surfing, as it made my eyes soar after couple of minutes (as coming from the Galaxy Note with is SAMOLED and the Sony Z).
It has a good, no, brilliant music player, sound wise. But it has many, many bugs and one of the main it hangs/stalls a lot. Where as the Poweramp player behaves completely the opposite. It is fast detects all the ID-tags correctly (which the stock player doesn't and even doesn't show the Album covers) Album art covers are shown in Poweramp, names , titles all are correctly labeled, and it sounded excellent, so If you hate the lag and are frustrated with all the bugs of the main stock music player, you have the Poweramp option, but take note as the kernel of this version of android is limited to 16/44.1, whereas the DX100 player, bypass this limitation to play true 192/24, and what a sound. A Head-fi member (spkrs01) found a way to fix the Album covers for the stock player, but this is only a temp fix, and this and many bugs  or missing features should be addressed by Ibasso, as a DAP made mainly/solely for music should fix these basic bugs.
If you want a media player (a complete package as with a video player, photo viewer, browser.etc...the Sony Z or even the Cowon J3/Ipod is a much better option).
Sorry to tell you , but the DX100 is only a pure , magnificent music player, and that's all. The Sound by time is changing, opening...but this is for later.
Ibasso should release a manual (at least a downloadable version) for its stock player as for how to change the chines written menus, that can not be changed!
Many might face this problem with multiple language settings. First open the keyboard, then keep pressing the Chinese character button in the Left side of the keyboard until a menu pops , 2 options select input method and android keyboard settings, chose the select input method, you will have 2 options, a Chinese written option and the android keyboard, chose the android keyboard..voila. but for my language fonts are still showing the English fonts, although I changed it to the other language .
What is most irritating , as I have seen in the threads, as for me. why the +/- volume rocker stops working when the screen is locked???? Whats the use of this volume key? this is the first android that had this  strange bug, and when you change the volume the volume indicator that pops on the screen, freezes all other touch functions and you have to wait until it disappears..So you see it has lots and lots of bugs, but what makes up for all of this is the SQ, and what an SQ....Continued

Pros: Fantastic clarity, sound-stage
Cons: No expansion memory, come on SONY
The build quality is nice, sophisticated, feels like a light brick, but the screen is prone to smudges, lots!!!!
I never faced this with my Galaxy note.
The screen colors are nice but compared to Samsung's AMOLED, if feels dull.
The sound is detailed, clear and neutral, with a shy bass. I was able to hear sounds I never realized they were there with other DAPS, nice one SONY. It is best suited for live concerts and instrumental tracks (it Shines with them). But when amped with a good amp, the fun factor pops and you start appreciating what you were missing. All my reviews were done with atracplus 256 or atrac loss-less.
I can talk about it for hours, but lets keep it short and say it is one of the best sounding Walkmans SONY has made.
My only complain , is that I wished it had a memory expansion (SONY Listen to your faithful customers).

Welcome back Kiteki! Head-fi was missing your magic....and some other stuff.
The Sony Z is a very nice DAP, lacking in some areas, but most importantly , it makes it with its SQ.

hello @turokrocks , how would this DAP compete with hdp r10 (an improved version of DX100)? Thanks

Pros: portable and powerful
Cons: Give me sometime, maybe I'll find something

Centrance LX Dacport is being put to test with my O2 amp, and let me tell you they were made for each other.
Music never sounded so good. Natural sounds, beautiful and precise instrument separation, the most important thing is balance nothing overwhelms neither the Bass or the treble, but the mids are really what I enjoy, along with the soundstage, not big but it is there and what a stage! My advice to anyone thinking of getting his first DAC, is to make this one on the top of his list.
The nice thing about both the amp and the Dacport LX is the size , where both can be carried in a pc/any bag easily and you can enjoy audiophile quality music anywhere & anytime. The sound you will be getting from these two is phenomenal in respect to their size, price ratio. Thank you Epiphany and thank you Centrance, you made me happy, and that's what is important.

Pros: Excellent workmanship and wonderful amp
Cons: I own only one

When I first read about this amp, I was skeptic about the sincerity of the  measurements at first, but I had to try it myself after his claims. After preordering, it came about  6 weeks later, and what an amp, I just now knew how wonderful this amp is, esp. with my Centrance LX Dacport, they were made for each other.

Pros: Very warm sound
Cons: Bulky, Bulky
Very nice player, it is my second favorite DAP.
But will be my best player if I update it with RockBox, and that's if we have a stable version!!!

Yea really great DAP, I love mine... BUT I was using a Zune HD [which is really the SMOOOTHEST UI in all of existance] so the buggy and SLOW ui was not a + for me... but as soon as I heard it... and it sounded AMAZING... I loved it and forgot all about that buggy ui :D, and it does drive my 250 ohm dt 880s very nicely ^^, although e.e this + my cMoy BB makes for a THICK an Chunk combo lol
Still great DAP, and I paid 1/2 for mine used :D

Indeed, and I'm crazy scared of dropping my 601 because it looks like it might just break (due to its form factor).

The Teclast T51 synergies better than the HM-601 with my Favorite amp, the TTVJ Slim, but Rockbox on HM-601 will shift the balance, we should wait and see.

Thank you Jude for your review , as soon as I watched your comparison between the Sennheiser Adidas HD 25 and Beyerdynamic 1350, I decided to get them both. and really they complement each other.

I just did the same, that is, I ordered Sennheiser Adidas HD 25 while already owning DT 1350 (and having no intention to part with them).

Pros: Wonderful sound
Cons: The right side cup was not holding in its position horizantly
I got the Beyerdynamic Tesla DT 1350  because of Jude's review, and I thank him for that, the sound is fantastic the portability factor is very welcomed, I love this headphone it sounds great and easy to handle.
I wished the metal piece that moves the cups up and down would stay in its position esp. the right one .

Pros: Great sound
Cons: Gain switch broke after 1st time of use
My favorite portable Amp from my collection, Everything works as has been reviewed and confirmed.
My only complain is for the gain switch which broke easily during my first use!
Well you can't have it all.
Sound wise it rocks and deserves your consideration

Todd is cool, When i informed him he directly offered me two options whichever is better for me , both included departing from my TTVJ slim which I could not, its not a big deal, I asked him to send me the switch and i will fix it later. Be careful when you nit, I am not the only one with this problem, check the forums for gain broke TTVJ slim, and you will know what I mean. At the end it is a great product with excellent support.

You do know that the pyramid with the capstone and the eye in it is the signature of the Illuminati on the back of the 1 dollar bill right? It is the all seeing eye or the eye of Horus which the Illuminati worship! Hahaha just kidding.

Definitely my best sounding and most versatile portable headphone amp. Works perfectly all the way from my FitEar ToGo! 334 (SUPER SENSITIVE!!!) to my Sennheiser HD 650.
