SOUNDPEATS is a brand that does not shy away from releasing TWS....more than 10 models just this year, probably close to 20!

With such a prolific model release , some will be hit or miss, however the focus of today's review the Engine 4 and Air4 Pro, are two excellent examples of what SOUNDPEATS is capable of and proof is that they are both the best sounding and more technical/feature packed of all models.

The Engine 4 re-defines the standard of sound quality with exceptional fidelity and an ability to captivate you in every nuance and detail of your favorite music.
LDAC codec delivers clearer and more realistic audio performance, allowing you to experience high-quality wireless music.
It comes equipped with a coaxial DD comprised of a 10mm and a 6mm driver, delivering unrivaled audio performance.
The Engine 4 features 5.3 Bluetooth and a truly impressive battery performance of 12.5 hours, with the charging case providing 2.5 additional charges, resulting in a total battery life of 43 hours

As for the SoundPEATS Air4 Pro, it features 5.3 Bluetooth, with Aptx Classic and Lossless codecs.
The selected driver is a high-fidelity 13mm DD, that is tuned very similarly to the Engine 4, but with the EQ from the app, can be fine tuned to sound on par with the Engine 4, maybe even surpassing it at times.
SoundPEATS Air4 Pro ANC noise cancelling is adaptive, intelligently adapting to your surroundings, ensuring that ambient noise is effectively eliminated.
The design also incorporates wind noise resistance, making them ideal for outdoor activities.
Finally with a total battery life of 26 hours, (6.5 from the earbuds) you can enjoy extended listening sessions and uninterrupted Low-Latency Gaming (
88ms).

KINERA Excellence
Pros: Unreal Bass performance form DD/BC combo
Vocal and Instrument performance
Exquisitely mature treble
Insane accessories
Cons: Big Money , so few can experience it's Uniqueness
Soundstage not on Planar level....but almost
IMG20231215091355.jpg

I would like to start by thanking the trust Kinera deposited on me, by allowing this tour for the Loki to be organised an thus bring audio hobbyists the opportunity to listen, experience and better understand the uniqueness of Kinera products and it's physiolophy.

The Loki is Kineras flagship hybrid driver IEM, placed above the Baldr and Imperial Baldr.
It features four types of drivers in the following configuration:

◆ Single 6mm liquid silicone Dynamic Driver for bass frequency.

◆ Six Knowles Balanced Armature drivers, 4 BAs for midrange and 2 BAs for treble frequency.

◆ Four Sonion Electrostatic Drivers for ultra-high frequency and additional air.

◆ One Kinera custom-build contact type bone conduction driver for deeper pitch on ultra-low frequency.

Included with the Loki is also the most complete accessories package I have ever seen.
It all starts with a 4-core, UP-OCC High Purity Copper Cable build by Effect Audio.
It's then followed with:

■ 5 sets of Final Type E tips (XS,S,M,L,XL)
■ 3 sets of AZLA Sedna Ear tips Crystal (S,M,L)
■ 3 sets of Spinfit CP145 Ear tips (S,M,L)
■ 2 sets of Symbio F Foam Ear tips (S,M)
■ Authentic Leather IEM carrying case.

Moving onto what we all want to know ... Sound:
The Kinera Loki has an exciting and captivating signature.
The BC primarily affects the bass regions adding to the single DDs ability of giving one of most incredible immersive bass presentations I have experienced.

It's a massive rumbling bass, surpassing anything you thought possible from such a small driver , but it's not basshead bass, it's a very high quality reproduction that marries almost flawlessly with the mids, allowing them to have this seductive timbre and tonality which renders me speachless.
It is an extremely satisfying bass with more rumble than slam, but still more than adequate punch when needed.
It's a textured, layered and articulate with only the slightest of bleed on very very few ocassions.

IMG20231215091425.jpg

Mids are crystal clean but still maintain that lushness and weight needed to make them organic and true.
Timbre and tonallity for me is exceptional , which help with making vocals exceptional, perhaps female voices edging out ever so slightly male voices.
Instruments sound perfect, real and tactile.....as if they where there with me, guitar plucks being the ones that Impressed the most, making music sound alive.

Treble has a mature , crystal clean presentation, with loads of extension and adding to the excellent separation of the mids and bass.
Overall I was impressed by how clinical but equally organic the treble was.

Finally technical abilities of the Loki are what I was expecting after the way it reproduced the frequency spectrum.
The Loki has the correct amount of reverb from the BC which adds to the Loki's ability to be highly resolving.
The perfectly implemented ESTs adds to the high degree of detail retrieval , resolution and imaging.
As for Soundstage it's perhaps the one area where form the price I would have liked a little more, not quite matching the abilities of a Planar driver in this area.

Overall i can full heartdely say that the Imperial Loki meets my personal requirements for a TOTL presentation and possible end game iem for me.

Saber 3 / Alter Rider 3
Pros: Effortless open sound
Excellent musicality
Cons: Fit is a hit or miss
IMG20231112105733.jpg

Firstly i would like to start by thanking @RikudouGoku for having been kind enough to send me these two earbuds , The Alter Rider 3 and Saber 3.

Also I feel privileged that he deems my opinion worthy and as such it was with enthusiasm that I made this review.

For further information concerning purchasing please note the following links:

https://www.instagram.com/rikubuds/

Secondly let me say I am no expert when it comes the earbuds, truthfully I don't consider myself an expert in IEMs either, I simply listen , confirm if what I have shoved into my ears pleases my senses and then proceed to express my opinion as best as i can using my musical preferences, my equipment and obviously my ear anatomy!

When it comes to Earbuds the make or brake moniker is very true, as the fit will determine the success or failure of the listening experience.

With regards to this I can say I am lucky, my ears are receptive to earbuds and as such I was able to make a correct judgement concerning the Alter Rider 3 and Saber 3.

IMG20231112105759.jpg

The accessories that the earbuds are provided with, are ample and satisfied my needs:
White foams , High density, add warmth/bass
Red foams , Med density, balanced sound
Black foams , Low density, make the sound brighter.
All that's left is to foam roll and see what suits your preferences better.
IMG20231112105841.jpg

The cable provided is of good quality even if non detachable and that leads to a 15.4mm driver which is either Titanium diaphragmed in the Alter or LCP in the Saber.

There's also a impedance variance between the two models, Alter is 32ohm and Saber 64ohm.

IMG20231112105843.jpg

Now what makes the Alter 3 and Saber 3 special is the Soundsphere technology.
To not overcomplicate , the inside of the 3D printed shell has some baffling, cleverly designed to reduce unwanted resonances, by braking down and or re orienting the sound waves created by the drivers motion.
This has the effect of increasing the clarity with which the drivers play, but also improves imagining and Soundstage.
In my books, this sort of technical prowess sits right along side the wave guide system that Smabat uses, and although both are very unique, I'll give Riku the win, the guy is a small diyer...respect!

The Alter 3 and Saber 3 are exceptional when it comes to tonality, meaning that both are quite versatile in the music genres they can support, although the darker nature and bass richer Alter 3 can make it shine with EDM , Rock, while the Saber 3 will feel at home with Jazz and Classic.

Bass of this duo is of excellent quality while quantity is ample, the Alter 3 sounding a little warmer due to slightly less uppermids and treble energy.
Either way the sub-bass is present but focus remains on mid-bass which is truly exceptional.
Both exhibit very good texture, speed, no noticeable bleed into the mids, just very engaging and well executed bass.

The mids are the star of the show, and with the almost absence of bass bleed , they come across clean, full bodied , providing that typical earbud musicality.
The Alter 3 is a smidge darker while the Saber 3 a little brighter, but whichever one you choose , vocals are always simply amazing.

The highs complement the mids , by offering the right energy, minimal sibilance and no harshness.
Instruments have a natural sound to them, with everything just being very musicaly correct.
Worth mentioning that the Saber 3 with its extra amount of treble can edge out slightly the Alter 3 when it comes to detail retrieval and that sense of Air.

Technicalities are another area which impressed me.
Soundstage is as expected from earbuds, large, more on the Saber than in the Alter Rider , although the difference to my ears seems to be more in the height.

Imaging on either one is again good , most tracks being easily resolved and broken down, even when complex.
But for me the technicality that stands out is how good timbre and tonality are.
They just sound so organic and real that it definitely makes them stand out.

Comparisons where made with some of my favourite earbuds, KSEarphones LBBS, Smabat M4 + Super One Module , VE Asura 3.0FE, Dunu Alpha 3, among a few others.
All have their magic, some being a true earbud representation, Asura, while others give me some IEM vibes, Smabat.

The Rikubuds are in my opinion and considering my personal taste an almost perfect pair of earbuds, the Alter gives me the Bass and warmth I like , the Saber the vocals and openness I appreciate, both bring a huge smile to my face!
