100+ Head-Fier
Pros: Good sound, good comfort, stylish, portable
Cons: poor noise isolation, doesnt feel durable
I remember years ago all the kids in my middle school would say skullcandy's are the best and it would irritate me since i knew they sucked. Now 4 years later I may have to change that.

I knew that the Aviators and Mix Masters were for the most part well received here. I tried them on before but they didnt impress me. Since I was looking for some portable headphones i decided to give these a shot.

Look
These look really nice (to me at least). While style is at the near bottom of the list of things to look for in a headphone i can't deny i like the look of these unlike many other gaudy skullcandy products.

Durability
So these are just ok in this department. These feel more cheap than they look. The headband seems fine. I cant imagine it breaking or anything. What i am worried about is the adjustment mechanism and cable. The adjustment mechanism feels cheap and like the cups will just slide over time. The cable is pretty thin and nylon braided. It is detachable though but skullcandy doesn't seem to sell the cable by itself so that kind of defeats the purpose of that. Skullcandy does have a lifetime warranty thats pretty good but since i live in Hawaii i could imagine the whole warranty process and shipping to take more than a month or two.

Comfort
These are really comfortable. It doesnt seem like it would be because of the weird shaped ear pads but for me they are really comfy and i could wear them for hours.

Isolation
These don't isolate well at all. If you need isolation don't get these. These almost dont block out noise at all. For me though i can handle it when in school or just walking around which is where id use them most. Oh and at home.

Travel
So these are pretty compact. These fold up nicely. The included carrying pouch is a bit small and its a bit hard to cram stuff in there but you get the hang of it after a while.

 Sound
So getting to the part 90% of you care about and just skipped to is the sound. These were pretty surprising to me. These after some burn in become a nice warm sound. At first they were a bit harsh and sibilant but i noticed a difference. The bass isn't overpowering but i find it's just about perfect and it can thump if the song calls for it. Although the sub bass is definitely lacking. The mids are the best part. I heard details i never heard in my music before. This is coming from an owner of the m50's. I truly feel like im hearing all of my music which is awesome! Mids are nice and smooth. The treble is slightly recessed but still gives nice detail and i like it like that. It's not harsh or anything like that after burn in.

Overall i like these quite a bit. Like i said there are things that could be improved like the build and isolation and Skullcandy actually selling replacement cable (like whats the point of having a detachable cable if you still cant buy a replacement???). But i will be keeping these and feel like its almost worth $150. The sound is what makes me like these a lot. Thats awfully weird considering im talking about Skullcandy.

Pros: really durable, sounds good for price
Cons: really uncomfortable
Got these over two years back at best buy. Wanted to try a sennheiser headphone since i heard so many great things. So i decided to get these for $50. When i got home and tried these on i was disappointed. Sounded tinny to me. But with some burn in i liked them. Now when i listen to them 2 years later i don't know what i was talking about it being tinny since these have quite a lot of bass. These have a V shaped sound sig to my ears. The bass is a bit bloated and muddy and treble a bit sibilant but for $50 its not bad. You can still hear the mids and these actually have good detail. No soundstage though and the sound is very cramped and kind of jumbled together sounding. Nonetheless a great sounding can for the price.

Now these are extremely uncomfortable! Earcups are really small and your ears just kind of cram in there against the drivers. Cant wear these for more than 20 minutes without it hurting.

On a positive not these are really durable! These took much abuse over the last 2 years from children using them roughly. These have stood up to all that and are just like when i bought them!

Pros: EXTREMELY comfortable, portable, detachable cable, pretty durable
Cons: too expensive for sound
So i got these at a local best buy a while back. I was looking for a perfect pair of portable headphones. Even though Bose is looked down upon here and many other places but i don't judge until i hear. So i got these on a whim and best buy has a good return policy so i knew I could always return them if I didn't like them.

First off these are EXTREMELY comfortable! It's probably the best part of these headphones considering i consider comfort the second most important thing next to sound quality. The drivers are so angled that no parts of my ears touch anything! These also isolate pretty well and don't leak sound.

The headphones do feel cheap but are actually more durable than you would think. The cable is really thin and does feel cheap but it is replaceable so that makes up for it.

Now onto the sound. These sound OK. Thats it really. I found the bass to have presence but not overpowering surprisingly. Whats weird is that the treble is the most present part in these. There is a lot of treble to my ears and it was pretty sibilant. Theres a weird drop in the midrange too that i can't quite put my finger on. These sound empty because of it. Overall these sound OK for the price. If these were $80 to $100 the sound would be more easier to swallow.

Overall Im giving it 3.5 out of 5 since how comfortable it is (seriously has to be the most comfortable headphones i ever tried), isolation and build seems good. This is a luxury item and i could see how someone would love these as many do but it wasn't for me.

Want a good portable? Try a Beyerdynamic DT1350. Best portable headphone anywhere near its pricetag and better than lots of home cans too.
Nice, honest review as well. Bose has comfortable headphones, but that's just about the only perk. They're all average with a warm, veiled, passive sound.
