Are there any IEM that can match the bass of Big Cans?
Thank you for all your input. I had the etymotic 6i, and they didn't have any bass (IMO)... They rolled off at about oh... 200hz and at a 4th order crossover... they were that bad. I am totally willing to change my mind, 180* flip if there are some relatively cheap IEMs that have bass, or can...- Ocelaris

Are there any IEM that can match the bass of Big Cans?
I know this is comparing apples to oranges. But very simple question really, if you've heard the DT 770, ATH-Pro700, AKG K81, ATH-J5 etc... some really bass laden big stomping cans. Is there an IEM that can match that? I mean, even rumbly if I crank it... without of course destroying my ears...- Ocelaris

Fake ATH-PRO700
I don't know when counterfeiting exploded... I thought they were just propaganda on the signs in the subways about it being "bad" for us... but it's crazy how much these things have come into North America, I can't remember anything like this when I was growing up... not that we'd really know...- Ocelaris

Ath-AD700 quick question.
Normally when the question is "normal" or "full" it means a roll off of frequencies below a certain frequency so they don't try to reproduce things they can't... Read it as "do you have crappy i-buds and should I limit the bass for you? Or would you like to get no processing (full)...- Ocelaris

Need some new headphones
The AKG K271 will need an amp to have enough volume, and they lack bass. If you like bass, skip these. I have them, they're great, comfortable, I love them, but only when EQed and have some sort of bass boost. I just got the Audio Technica ATH-Pro700 closed, and love them, although they have...- Ocelaris

Fake ATH-PRO700
Yeah, I think there was a misunderstanding. I have the real ones and I got them from Audio Cubes this morning... I even put up a positive review in their section of the forum! I've followed Audio cubes for YEARS, and it was crazy cool they just opened a store up here in NYC a few weeks ago...- Ocelaris

Audio Technica ATH-Pro700 Impressions vs. AKG-K81DJ & ATH-SJ5
This is a story of me looking for another pair of headphones for the daily subway commute. I listen to primarily techno, Paul Van Dyk, Armin Van Buuren etc... I have a set of AKG K271 studio monitors right now, and although they're comfortable and clear, they're just bass shy, and they are...- Ocelaris

Fake ATH-PRO700
Ironically, I just bought a pair today at Audio Cubes Store in NYC... The jacks are nickel plated (says so on the box)... sound is pretty good to me! Bag is black with Audio Technica logo on it... sorry forgot to get a pic, if you need another, let me know. Click to enlarge, pictures all...- Ocelaris

Damn you Best Buy Gift Card
bingo. couldn't have said it better... I can only hope that stores like J&R grow, they can compete with best buy often, but also have some of the higher end, like AKG, some ATH, Grado... This happens with pretty much ALL retail stores these days though, clothes, electronics, cell phones...- Ocelaris

Damn you Best Buy Gift Card
It's already up on craigslist, but I don't have enough posts to sell it here (so I won't say any further on the matter). I've already got my heart set on visiting the new Audio Cubes store in NYC, they have some nice DJ style folding phones, so hopefully I'll pick some up sooner than later!- Ocelaris

Damn you Best Buy Gift Card
So I got a Best Buy gift card from my thoughtful company, thinking I would normally shop there... But their selection of headphones is atrocious! I was hoping to find even some mid grade Sonys in particular the MDR-V700DJ which was my favorite comfort wise, even though the reviews have been...- Ocelaris

AKG K271s Ready for 2nd Amp... Bass?
I'm pleased with my first set of headphones, the AKG K271s with a little 9v (x2) amp, but I'm getting tired of tossing 9v batteries, and looking for a few more features. I need some reccomendations, after reading all the reviews, just some more suggestions really... Specifically, the...- Ocelaris

Review: cMoy Headphone Amp Bass BOOST Edition
I just got John's Cmoy Bass Boost clone today also, and it definetly is a major improvement over non-amped for my AKG K271. I seem to have a bit different layout, without the volume knob, enough room such that I can stick another 9v battery in series, which I'm going to attempt tomorrow. I...- Ocelaris
