Shanling M0 Pro - Ultra-Portable Hi-Fi Player, Now With Balanced Output!
I have both the M5 and M0 Pro. The M5 may have been a king of micro-daps back in the past, but it clearly shows its age. Aside from the M5's handy belt clip, which I really love, for everything else I clearly prefer the M0 Pro. The list is long, but the first thing that comes to mind is that the...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
It is also possible for the meter to read 100% too soon after charging without the R2II being fully charged. I haven't experienced the sudden discharge since I started "overcharging" it, i.e. charging it longer than the full charge color indicates.- DjBobby

Shanling M0 Pro - Ultra-Portable Hi-Fi Player, Now With Balanced Output!
Used the M0 Pro intensively with the Sony WH-1000XM3 on a few subsequent flights and train rides. Didn't have any single issue with the bluetooth connectivity, no stuttering, not even a slight interruption, everything worked fine. Hearing about the connectivity problem issues, my guess is that...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
Took the R2 II as my solely player for an 8-days extensive trip. Sound quality, both over bluetooth and wired, was very good. The battery, at the beginning was doing really great, I even thought that it keeps very well or drains slowly. Until I woke up one morning and got a message that the...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
From time to time, the player completely forget the settings. It doesn't happens always but still it is strange because it happens when the battery is still charged. For example, I turn on the R2 II, and the gapless playback, playing through the folders, filter settings etc. which were checked...- DjBobby

Tidal Lossless Streaming
Hope it wouldn't be Spotify kind of soon, who announced more than two years ago their HiFi premium tier. Still not available. -
Tidal Lossless Streaming
One thing I didn't manage to find out is, how to empty Tidal's cache on IOS. I have Tidal HiFi plus, Apple Music and Spotify subscriptions, all for different purposes. When I delete Apple's offline downloads, it immediately gives storage free, up to to the point that I can really slim it... -
Chord Mojo 2 Thread ___ [product released January 31, 2022 -- starting on page 95 of thread]
Are you sure it is not the EMI noise? Have you tried listening to the offline downloaded music from your phone with the wifi turned off, just for experimental reasons?- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
OK, I think I figured out about the missing playlists in Tidal. Found the information on the R3 forum and applied it to the R2 II and it works. It seems that the problem is on the Tidal's side or how Tidal communicates with the HiBy OS. As I have Apple Music and Spotify subscriptions, beside...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
Thanks a lot for the advice! It worked out. So that means that there is no unified HiBy OS implementation, if it behaves differently on different devices. Still trying to figure out, how to be able to listen to my entire Tidal library Including all my playlists, and not just only the same 4...- DjBobby

DSD output mode in the settings is grayed out. Not possible to change it, showing always „pcm“ as output. Another one on the list for next firmware.- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
I doubt it could be solved with the firmware update. The battery drains when the unit is completely off, not operational. More probably as @castalla says, the problem might be the design of the cicuit board. I do hope that some other flaws, like the Tidal usability, could be solved with the...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
Many album covers are not shown at all, There must be some size limit for the album arts, which I haven't encountered with any other similar player yet. Using Tidal, it shows only 4 own playlists, only 4 artists and only 8 random tracks from all of my favourite music. Either the battery drains...- DjBobby

HiBy R2 - HiBy's entry-level HiFi digital audio player
Ordered Hiby R2 II on the same day as a Shanling M0 Pro, some 2 weeks ago, at the last AliExpress big sale. Couldn't resist, as it was really a bargain. Streaming Tidal works flawlessly but the UI is not quite intuitive. Don't like to read the manuals. Right out of the box, it took me longer...- DjBobby

[FiiO M5] Compact and Versatile Hi-Res Music Player
Using the 1.4.7 firmware. According to FiiO's official website: "The volume is adjustable when using PO; the volume is defaulted to the maximum and not adjustable when using SPDIF output, USB Audio or LO." Yet, when I connect the M5 through the USB to Chord Mojo, I get volume adjustable sound...- DjBobby

Burson Conductor 3 Performance & Conductor 3X Performance
Yes, indeed, pretty close THD measurements. I found especially interesting the section where Roman measured different digital audio filters, including the impulse and step response. It was somewhat surprising to see that literary all filters have high aliasing. While the aliasing is common with...- DjBobby

Watts Up...?
The part about the headphones is perfectly clear. Just trying to understand the part about the speakers correctly. If your speakers are, as you say, too wide apart and you are setting a cross-feed to minimum, how does is lead to the ideal width perspective? Wouldn't you need much more cross-feed... -
xDuoo X2 - small lossless player with microSD and OLED!
Maybe a time to open a new thread, just for the X2S? Since the Xduoo doesn’t mention any dac chip, I guess itˋs again the RKNanoD chip from Rockchip, as already seen in the Nano D3.- DjBobby
